On the day of the event, the children and their parents visited the former residence of Ba Jin, located at 113 Wukang Road in Shanghai. Under the guidance of the volunteers, the children and their parents had an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of this garden house. Since Mr. Barking moved in in 1955, it has been the inspiration for many of his famous works such as Caprice and Creative Memoirs. During the visit, through interaction with the full-time workers of the former residence, the participants were able to gain an in-depth understanding of the way the literary master lived and worked, as well as the profound impact of Ba Lao's life on the city of Shanghai.
Subsequently, under the guidance of Zhao Jizhu, an excellent instructor of Shanghai Humanities Walking and a full-time teacher of Hunan Street Community School, everyone came to the Old House Art Center. Zhao Jizhu explained the history and culture of the Hengfu style area. The children listened with relish and actively answered questions in the interactive session of "Old House Knowledge Quiz".
