8.was a former Hungarian citizen whose citizenship was terminated, or a member of his/her immediate family who was or was a Hungarian citizen;

9.Be a minor child of a third-country resident with immigrant, permanent resident or refugee status.

A Hungarian national permanent residence permit will not be granted in the following cases:

1.Residence in Hungary poses a threat to public safety or ***;

2.are facing deportation or exclusion from Hungary, or have been alerted in the European Information System (SIS) for refusal of entry and residence rights;

3.provide false information or untrue facts in order to obtain a permit, or mislead the competent authorities;

4.Have a previous criminal record up to the removal of adverse consequences associated with their criminal record.

In addition, third-country residents who have been granted refugee status may also apply for a national permanent residence permit without a long-term visa or residence permit.

Application & Process Information:

In exceptional cases, the Hungarian Minister of Immigration may, without the relevant statutory requirements, decide to grant a permanent residence permit to a third country, based on personal circumstances, family ties and health conditions.
