Leaf cuttings, dividing, stem cuttings, propagating succulent new life.

Succulent reproduction ability is super strong, I happened to see a leaf fall, and after a few days to see, it actually took root and emerged, and after a few months, the seedling grew into a plant that began to take shape, and a new life was born. It's that simple to breed succulents.

1.Leaf cuttings: Prepare the leaves. Select healthy, plump and intact leaves from the plant and gently remove them, avoiding dirt or water sticking to the leaf wounds. Place the leaves in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 1 3 days and dry their wounds. Otherwise, the leaves are susceptible to infection.

Prepare the container and soil. Put the soil with good water retention and air permeability, and relatively fine particles into a shallow but wide container, and place the leaves on the medium with the leaves facing up, and bury a little soil or no soil, which will not affect the emergence of seedlings. After the leaf cutting, put it in a ventilated and sunlight-diffusing place, and do not expose it to direct sunlight, so as not to evaporate too quickly and cause the leaf to die. In addition, because the leaves themselves still have a lot of water, they do not need to be watered before they take root or sprout, otherwise they are prone to rot. Depending on the variety, it may take 7 to 15 days to take root. Once the roots have grown, they should be buried in the soil in time, and then they can be watered with appropriate amounts of water, and they can be gradually moved into the sun. One thing to note is that you must not remove the shoots until the original leaves have completely withered.

2. Branching: Branching method is a more common and simple propagation method for succulents, which is more suitable for succulents in a group state. First of all, the plantlets are separated from the mother plant, and too many fibrous roots are cut off, the fewer fibrous roots, the easier it is to sprout new roots, and the faster the plant is potted. Divide the plants to dry the wound for 1 day, then select a pot of the appropriate size and plant the broken young plants in a pot filled with soil. Place in a ventilated place where scattered light is sufficient.

3. Stem cuttings: Stem cuttings, also known as cutting off heads, refer to the propagation method of cutting off the branches of the plant for cuttings. Choose a healthy succulent plant and cut it off with a blade or scissors in a suitable place. Remove the bottom few leaves of the cut section to reveal a section of the stem, which is more conducive to rooting. Do not throw away the plucked leaves, but use them for leaf cuttings. Both leaves and branches should be left in a cool and ventilated place for a few days after cutting, so that the incisions can be dried and placed in the soil to avoid contamination by bacteria. Once the wound has healed naturally, it can be placed directly in the soil and left for the roots to grow and pot.

Seedling management, breeding seedlings is a happy thing, but improper management of seedlings is also easy to "hang up". The water storage capacity of seedlings is poor, so it is necessary to keep the soil moist and ensure good ventilation, otherwise it is easy to breed diseases and pests, and the seedlings can not accept direct sunlight and should be placed in a semi-shaded place. Succulent hair root pot to a month to a month and a half, seedlings just potted for about 5 days to slip watering, keep the moisture moderate, can not be watered, large watering will meet the root plant rot, do not bask in the sun, do not move repeatedly, create a stable environment, slip watering to half a month after the root system grows, and then continue to water. After a month and a half, gently touch the plant with your hand, the plant is stable and does not shake, indicating that the pot is in good condition, if the plant is not stable, it is not completely potted, and you need to be patient and maintain it for a while. If the pot is stable, you can water it a lot, and follow the principle of dry and thorough watering. After two or three months, you can bask in the sun and the root system will grow. The succulent can be maintained normally.
