In the service area of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the main artery of China's north-south traffic, there are 10 times more new energy vehicles to charge than usual. Is the charging pile sufficient? How efficient is the charging?
CCTV reporter Chen Xi: I am now at the entrance of the service area of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Baoding service area, about 150 kilometers south of Beijing, and the vehicles depart from Beijing and arrive here in about 2 hours, and the drivers will refuel and recharge, eat and rest in the service area.
From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Baoding service area ushered in the first small peak of the day's new energy vehicle charging.
In the face of structural changes in self-driving travel, before the Spring Festival this year, 12 new high-power charging piles were built in the Baoding service area in advance, and now 20 new energy vehicles can be charged at the same time. Near noon, more and more cars entered the service area, and the reporter noticed that all charging piles in the service area were running at full capacity.
When the charging piles are running at full load, the mobile charging vehicle can be quickly replenished in place. The reason why the mobile charging vehicle can be dispatched in time is because it has a set of "smart brains" behind it. There are a total of 7 service areas along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, and the "small dispatch" can dispatch the charging piles in each service area, while the smart dispatching center, which is far away from 100 kilometers, will string the scattered 7 service areas into a "line" through the "large dispatch", and coordinate all 84 charging piles and 3 mobile charging vehicles on the entire expressway.
"Big scheduling" links service guarantee resources, and information sharing is realized in each service area. When there is a peak traffic in the Baoding service area, the mobile charging vehicle can be in place in time, and the Wangdu service area adjacent to it will also receive an early warning.
In order to ensure the Spring Festival, the charging piles in the Baoding service area were updated before the end of last year, and the charging efficiency was improved. During peak hours, after scheduling, it can basically be charged after waiting for half an hour. The "charging guarantee" in the service area has given many car owners more confidence and less worry.
During the Spring Festival, the number of new energy vehicles on highways in Hebei Province is expected to reach about 3.5 million, and the charging pressure is huge. In addition to the charging pile, Hebei Province has also added 50 new battery swap stations, bringing the total number to 65. The reporter saw at the scene that it only takes 3 minutes to change the battery of the new energy vehicle, and the replaced battery is left in the battery swap station for charging, and the owner behind it can be recycled.
In a few days of interviews along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the reporter found that as the charging piles of the expressway network became more and more popular, the green cars in Shaanxi, Jilin and other distant areas that were almost invisible before also appeared in the service area of Hebei.
In order to cope with the large passenger flow of this year's Spring Festival, the Hebei Provincial Department of Transportation will build 293 highway charging piles in 2023, with a total of 962; 50 new battery swap stations, an increase of more than 3 times compared with before, Hebei province's service area has all realized the coverage of charging facilities, in addition to the setting of mobile charging facilities, service interval collaborative guidance, etc., efficient use of charging resources, to ensure that the Spring Festival road can be "charging endurance".
