I am very fortunate to be able to meet the young painter Zhang Chaoping in this life, and every time I see his colorful Chinese paintings, I instantly think of the graceful morning glow in the morning light, so beautiful, so vivid, so vigorous. Not long ago, when I saw the album he was about to publish, two lines of poetry flashed out of my mind - a thousand styles into the brush, and a touch of morning glow out of the Pinghu Lake.

Zhang Chaoping, isn't it the brilliant morning glow in the sky of Chinese painting?

I don't know how to paint, but I respect painters very much, and I have turned over the long river of history, Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong, Wu Changshuo, Li Kuchan, Wang Xuetao ......All famous painters are thinkers, philosophers, writers, calligraphers, and aesthetes. Therefore, when the painter Zhang Chaoping asked me to write a preface to his collection, I was both terrified and fortunate.

Qu Yuan said: "The road is long, I will go up and down and seek", painting this road is longer, more lonely, and farther. I have known Zhang Chaoping for ten years, and I feel that he has been "sharpening his sword for ten years" and has been seeking. In his early years, in order to explore the way of painting and calligraphy, Zhang Chaoping read famous works, read famous scrolls, visited famous works, worshipped famous teachers, studied under Chen Helian, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Chongqing Three Gorges University, visited Hu Xiaoxuan, who was "drunk in Bashan and Chongqing, obsessed with Danqing painting", and studied with Fang Fengfu, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Southwest University and a painter of the "Chinese Grape King", and was fortunate to have Wang Weiping, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, Yue Qianshan, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, and Lin Rongsheng from the National Academy of Painting. Yuan Xuejun, Zhang Peiwu of Rong Bao Zhai Painting Institute, Chongqing Painting Institute will be the careful guidance of famous contemporary painters, widely accumulated, absorbing the strengths of others, laying a deep foundation of brush and ink skills, the fledgling Zhang Chaoping still did not stop the pace of exploration, he and fellow painter Li Hong together "travel thousands of miles", trekking Bashan Shushui, chasing flowers, birds, grasses and insects, exchanging brushwork skills, collecting wind in nature, and creating in a long journey. The hard work pays off, Zhang Chaoping, who is just forty years old, has emerged in the field of landscape, flower and bird painting, and his paintings of mountains, peonies, and grapes are even more unique and unique.

What is it called "unique and unique"?I think that Zhang Chaoping's Chinese painting reveals a kind of humble, self-contained, and quiet literati book temperament, he is a middle school art teacher, who not only preaches and teaches to solve doubts, but also admires literature and paints. His flower and bird paintings, in response to the pictogram of objects, with the kind of color, will be built of pen and ink, full of color into the ethereal poetry, the rhythm of life, hook, slight, point, dye, as desired, as desired, unrestrained, in the natural blend of water, ink, color, in the collision of tradition and modernity, inheritance and innovation continue to find positioning, highlighting their "ethereal like landscape." Tranquil as grass and trees". The plum orchid bamboo chrysanthemum, flowers, birds, wood and stone, vine stems and leaves, or thickness, or slow, or frustration, or turn, or square circle, color and ink are used together, sparse and dense, layered, virtual and real, the thick is wonderful, the light is not obscure, very rich in the breath of life, thorough breath of life, people seem to be in the artistic conception of "flowers and shadows", "small bridges and flowing water".

In my opinion, Zhang Chaoping's landscape paintings are hearty "big freehand", and flower and bird paintings are full of fun "small freehand", and I am particularly surprised by this kind of painter who can "eat all the big and the small". Zhang Chaoping's flower and bird paintings cover a wide range of areas, and each has its own characteristics, such as peonies, wisteria, lotuses, starlings, kingfishers, swimming fish, ......There are thousands of postures, thousands of weather, with Wu Changshuo, Wang Xuetao, Guo Weihui and other masters of Chinese painting style of brush and ink charm and benevolence. Most of all, his grape paintings, which always make me salivate, and I would like to collect more. If I didn't look at his inscriptions and seals, I often mistakenly thought that his grape paintings were the work of Fang Fengfu, the "King of Chinese Grapes". It is no wonder that because Professor Fang Fengfu often goes back to his hometown to teach and preach, he opens a "Lei Feng class" to teach Chinese painting, and brings newcomers to the humble and diligent Zhang Chaoping, who sees the sages and thinks together, and it is also possible to get the true transmission.

Chinese painting is the precipitation of Chinese thought". Although Zhang Chaoping's Chinese painting has not yet reached the supreme realm of "looking at mountains or mountains, and looking at water or water", it has gradually reached a new realm of "the simpler the brush, the more breathing, the fewer things and the stronger the meaning". Closing Zhang Chaoping's painting collection, I suddenly remembered a sentence in "The World Speaks New Words" - "A thousand rocks compete for the show, and thousands of ravines compete for the stream." The grass and trees are covered with clouds. "The rocks, the grass and trees, and the clouds make my heart yearn for them. Zhang Chaoping's future works are also what I yearn for.
