In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, and the main force of the Red Army in northern Shaanxi was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army. In October 1937, the Japanese invaders began to attack Shandong, and the common people in Shandong spontaneously organized and established a number of anti-Japanese guerrilla units.
In December 1938, the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army was formally established, which incorporated and guided the anti-Japanese guerrillas in Shandong, and led the military and civilians in Shandong to participate in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement.
Today we are going to talk about a soldier of the Eighth Route Army in Shandong, named Xie Changlin. In 1938, Xie Changlin, who was only 19 years old, resolutely joined the Eighth Route Army in southwest Shandong and began to exert his strength in the flames of resistance against Japan.
So, what is Xie Changlin's story and ending? Xie Changlin was born in 1917 in an ordinary peasant family in Liaocheng, Shandong. His father knew the importance of education and didn't want Xie Changlin to become "blind", so he sent him to a local private school for education.
Xie Changlin was smart and studious, very hardworking, and was deeply influenced by progressive ideas in the process of studying. In 1936, he joined the vanguard of the liberation of the Chinese nation and became a passionate young man.
Xie Changlin's story is full of tenacity and courage, and his actions are a firm commitment to the cause of national liberation. Although we cannot detail every one of his experiences, we do know that he made a great contribution in the Sino-Japanese War.
What is the end of Xie Changlin, although history has passed, we still respect his sacrifices and efforts for the country and the nation.
In 1937, when the flames of resistance against Japan were ignited, Xie Changlin actively responded to the call of the National Liberation Vanguard and devoted himself to resisting Japan and saving the country in Shanxi. On the battlefield of resistance against Japan in Shanxi, Xie Changlin joined the "Shanxi Youth Anti-Enemy Death Squad", but unfortunately, after the fall of Linfen, Xie Changlin boarded the train to Yuncheng in a panic.
Unexpectedly, soon after arriving in Yuncheng, Xie Changlin was unable to continue fighting due to a leg injury, and had to regretfully leave the "death squad" and go home to recuperate.
Xie Changlin returned to Shandong in April 1938 and immediately joined the anti-Japanese guerrillas in his hometown. In December, the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army was established, and 19-year-old Xie Changlin became one of them.
Under the leadership of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army, Xie Changlin was active in the Luxi Military Region for a long time, fighting against the Japanese invaders.
In 1941, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression entered a state of stalemate, and Xie Changlin served as the director of the Political Department of the Third Division of the Luxi Military Region. In the face of the blockade and "sweeping" of the Japanese invaders, the environment in the base area became extremely harsh.
In order to change this situation, Xie Changlin led the warriors of the three districts to resist stubbornly, and successively conquered the strongholds of the Japanese puppet army such as Guanxian and Xia Zhen, alleviating the tension in the three districts, not only breaking the deadlock, but also strengthening the anti-Japanese forces.
It can be said that Xie Changlin has made tremendous contributions to the anti-Japanese cause of the Luxi Military Region and is a meritorious hero of the country and the nation.
Mr. Xie Changlin joined our party in 1936, but due to the war, his organizational ties were lost, and he did not become a member of the party again until 1938. However, this experience later brought a lot of trouble to Xie Changlin, and he was even wrongly accused of being a "fake party member" during the ten-year special period, which was greatly affected.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xie Changlin was transferred to the Air Force and served as the political commissar of the 1st Air Force School. When the title was conferred in 1955, Mr. Xie Changlin was awarded the rank of colonel, and in 1964, at the age of 47, he was promoted to major general.
Since then, Mr. Xie Changlin has been committed to the cause of the Air Force, and also served as the deputy political commissar of the Air Force of the Wuhan Military Region.
After the September 13 incident in 1971, the air force system suffered a heavy blow, and many high-ranking generals were censored, such as Air Force Commander Wu Faxian and some generals of the Guangzhou Military Region Air Force.
Xie Changlin, as an air force general, was also removed from his post after the incident. He faded from public view and retired in 1983. After his retirement, Xie Changlin spent most of his life in Beijing, enjoying the treatment of a regular army.
In 2002, Xie Changlin died of illness in Beijing at the age of 85.
