From 1 March, unique artworks by Hungarian and foreign light artists will be exhibited in the Biodome of the Budapest Botanical and Botanical Garden. As a highlight of the exhibition, the public will be able to visit the entire interior of the Eco Pavilion for the first time.
The zoo announced that the light art exhibition will be open for more than two weeks and will include light art and audiovisual installations for the Eco Pavilion, each inspired by natural phenomena. As they wrote, this unique building is equipped with hundreds of smart lights, projectors, and high-performance slide projectors, carefully crafted by domestic and international light artists to create a unique lighting environment.
The organizers consider these works to be unique, and the special location in which they are located makes it even more exciting than any similar exhibition.
The 3 million litre giant aquarium designed for sharks is a perfect example of this, becoming a magical work of light in its own right.
The LightDome project is an initiative of Colloc Productions (organizer of the Inota Contemporary Audiovisual Festival program) and Centrum Production, and was produced in collaboration with Laluz Visuals, known for his monumental light paintings, and internationally renowned light artist Karl Kola.
Lightdome will be open from 1 to 17 March 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The zoo recommends that visitors start their visit at 21 p.m. at the latest to allow enough time to explore the exhibits.
