Da Qin Fu is quite fair in dealing with the issue of Yingzheng s life experience

Mondo History Updated on 2024-02-02

On December 1, "Da Qin Fu" was broadcast as the final chapter of the Da Qin Empire series, with a Douban score of 89 points, well deserved.

In this era when most historical dramas focus on idol drama elements, "Da Qin Fu" with its extreme presentation of historical details makes ** forget to return.

The most commendable thing is that there is no fresh meat in the play, it is all old drama bones, and the acting skills are impeccable. From the first episode of my ** "Great Qin Fu", I have been curious about the life experience of Qin Shi Huang Yingzheng.

And the broadcast method of "Da Qin Fu" makes me very satisfied, it does not adapt indiscriminately for the pursuit of excitement, but treats this pain point with a rigorous attitude.

In the tenth episode of "The Great Qin Fu", the Empress Dowager Huayang tried to force King Xiang of Qin Zhuangxiang to make his youngest son Cheng Chan the crown prince, so that she could control the government.

However, King Xiang of Qin Zhuang resolutely refused, and Empress Dowager Huayang, in order to avoid the worst, ordered her younger brother Yangquanjun to spread rumors claiming that Yingzheng was Lü Buwei's son.

Although the first nine episodes of "Da Qin Fu" do not deal with Ying Zheng's life story, the tenth episode reveals this key issue.

Gongzi Fu and Lü Buwei joined forces, and the clan and ministers were led by them, and led troops into the palace to King Qin, but they were obstructed by Yangquanjun. At this critical moment, Ying Zheng led Meng Tian and Fan Yuzhi to take the opportunity to break into the palace and successfully rescued King Xiang of Qinzhuang.

This incident has been satisfactorily resolved, and it also shows the respect and rigorous attitude of "Da Qin Fu" towards history, which is worthy of our praise.

In the "Historical Records: The Biography of Lü Buwei", it is recorded that Lü Buwei married a stunning woman who was good at dancing in Handan, Zhao State, and later learned that she was pregnant. Zichu saw her at a drinking party and was attracted to her, so he blessed her and asked her to be his wife.

Lü Buwei was very angry about this, but considering that he had gone bankrupt for Zi Chu, he wanted to take this opportunity to let him catch an adventure, so he dedicated the woman to Zi Chu.

The woman hid her pregnancy until she gave birth to Yingzheng at term. Zichu then made her his wife.

The Records of the Historian is an immortal work written by Sima Qian, which everyone knows. But what is surprising is that Sima Qian contradicts himself in the "Records of the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty", challenging his previous assertions and overturning his own views with his own hands.

Qin Shi Huangdi, Prince Qin Zhuangxiang also. —Historical Records: Qin Shi Huang Benji" here says that Qin Shi Huang Yingzheng is the son of King Xiang of Qin Zhuang. A history book by the same author, but it records two very different facts.

Sima Qian sacrificed himself to complete the "Historical Records", but why did he record the two different life experiences of Ying Zheng?

It is speculated that when Sima Qian was writing the "Historical Records", he discovered two theories about Yingzheng's life experience: one said that Lü Buwei was born, and the other said that he was born to King Xiang of Qin Zhuang, and he himself could not distinguish the true from the false.

For the sake of authority, he decided to include both statements. Thus, two different accounts have emerged.

The life history of Qin Shi Huang Yingzheng is still confusing, especially whether he was the son of Lü Buwei, there is no clear record in the historical materials. As a precious historical material in the pre-Qin period, the "Warring States Policy" does not involve any information on this issue.

After the Qin Dynasty, there were different opinions on this issue in historical documents, some believed that he was the biological son of King Xiang of Qin Zhuang, while others believed that he was the son of Lü Buwei.

Therefore, to truly solve this mystery, it may be necessary to wait until the day when the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang is excavated, at which time there may be physical evidence to reveal the truth for us.

At present, the life history of Qin Shi Huang Yingzheng is still full of mystery.

Here, I personally firmly believe that Yingzheng is very likely to be the biological son of King Xiang of Qin Zhuang. If he is not the biological son of King Xiang of Qin Zhuang, then there are only three people who know: Yingzheng himself, Zhao Ji, and Lü Buwei.

In order to ensure the stability of his throne, Ying Zheng will never leak this news; In order to maintain her status, Zhao Ji will not easily say this; And if the matter is true, Lü Buwei, as the biggest beneficiary, is even more unlikely to make it public.

So, who exactly leaked this secret? The answer doesn't seem obvious.

In the pre-Qin period, in order to ensure the dominance of the empire, Qin Shi Huang burned almost all the poetry books, which made the Confucian scholars at that time extremely hateful.

After the completion of Sima Qian's "Records of the Historians", it was not distributed on a large scale, but in the hands of his grandson.

Therefore, we do not know whether the "Records of the Historians" were tampered with during this period. If there is really tampering, then this person must be a Confucian scholar.

There is no need to dwell too much on the background of Qin Shi Huang's reign, he did unify the six countries, created a centralized system, built the Great Wall, and made a significant contribution to China.

We should pay more attention to these real historical contributions of his than his life experience.

For future TV dramas about Qin Shi Huang, we hope that they can be based on real history and avoid random adaptations in pursuit of excitement, otherwise they will mistake fictional things for real history.
