Do you want to turn the book club from a monotonous and boring process into an experiential activity full of surprises and fun?
In fact, the book club is more than just a book.
As long as you are good at using interactive strategies, you can let your book lovers experience a different world of reading.
If a book club is a movie, then a traditional book club is like a black and white silent film, and what we have to do is to add color, sound, and even 3D effects to it.
What makes a facilitated book club go beyond the traditional book club model is that it makes every event a new experience.
Just like the wizarding world of Harry Potter, if you can do a facilitated book club, you can also turn the book club field into a place where miracles are born.
Of course, the technology of the facilitated reading club needs to go through systematic learning to master, and then you can create an immersive experience for book lovers in the book club.
The moment of immersion experience of book lovers is the moment when individual power is activated, the moment when spatial energy circulates and flows, and the moment when the atmosphere of the field is the best.
Each individual has their own unique algorithm (way of thinking), and they all bring their own unique data (their own knowledge, experience, and books).
The facilitated reading club is to form a field of mutual support, collision of perspectives, and warmth of each other, so that participants can exchange data, share algorithms, reshape perspectives, and upgrade the ...... of world view
In this way, the gain of the individual is either to accumulate more data or to upgrade the original algorithm.
Extended reading: What is the "Promoted Reading Club" that is popular in the reading circle?
Today I'm going to share with you some simple interactive strategies that can be used directly for book clubs.
Next, let's have a different reading club experience!
These interactive strategies that will be shared will allow your book friends to open up their five senses and experience a different new world of reading.
Imagine attending your book club, where book friends don't sit and listen to lectures in a traditional book club, but start an energetic trip on a creative reading feast.
As a result, your reading will become more interesting, richer, and more meaningful.
So what are the interactive strategies that can achieve such an effect when doing a book club?
There are four basic, hands-on interaction strategies, which are:
mutual
moving
policy
Slightly
1. Gamified learning.
2. The application of coaching questioning.
3. Design with a sense of immersive experience.
4. Landing action tool form.
How do these four interaction strategies work in a book club? Let's look at them one by one.
part.01
Gamified learning
The first interactive strategy is gamified learning.
Gamified learning refers to the integration of game elements into the learning process to make learning more fun and challenging.
Gamified learning enhances participants' learning experience by stimulating their curiosity, exploration, competition, and collaboration.
In the reading club, we can set up some interactive games such as selection games, everyone to find differences, matrix placeholding, etc., to enhance the interaction between book friends;
You can also set up some links to share personal stories in combination with books to arouse the interest and curiosity of book lovers.
We can also set up small games such as point system and leaderboard to motivate the enthusiasm of book friends;
We can also set up games such as book blind boxes, book exchange and sharing to promote communication and collaboration between book friends;
These gamified designs can make the book club a whole new look.
In fact, the innovative reading game shared by the [Reading Player Group into Lessons] every week in the group belongs to embedding the concept of gamified learning into the reading club.

part.02
Application of the coach's questioning technique
Coaching questioning skills refer to a series of questions and instructions to guide participants to think, act, and give feedback, so as to enhance their sense of participation and breakthrough.
Coaching techniques can help participants move from passively receiving information to actively exploring knowledge, from one-way communication to two-way communication, and from individual learning to mutual growth.
In the book club, we can guide participants to find problems, solve problems, and create value in the interaction by asking questions.
For example, we can ask step-by-step questions to get the book reader thinking:
Which do you think is the best match between this book and the objects in the set? Why? ”
Which partner on the scene do you think is most similar to this book? Why? ”
What do you think is the best food to pair with this book? Why? ”
As another example, we can set up imperative tasks to prompt participants to take action
Please design a micro-film according to the content of this book, through the elements of xxx, and then share your design ideas in the group, or deduce them when you go to the next reading club."
At the same time, we can also set up prompt questions to help participants self-reflect, such as:
Please give yourself a score for your overall performance yesterday, with a score between 1-10."
Please give yourself a score for your overall performance today, with a score between 1-10."
Okay, now that you have the blessing of this book, assuming that you will finish reading this book tomorrow, please give yourself a score for your overall performance tomorrow, choose a score between 1-10".
These coaching questions can give participants more opportunities to speak, think, grow, and explore themselves in the book club.
part.03
Immersive design
You want to create a situation and atmosphere that is easy for participants to engage with, so that they can not only listen and see, but also start a journey through the five senses.
We can create this immersive experience environment through elements such as lighting, props, scenes, etc., so that participants feel like they are in the world of the book.
For example, we can choose the right **, lighting, and background wall according to the content of the book to create a background that fits the atmosphere.
We can prepare some props based on the characters and stories in the book, so that participants can experience and simulate the plot of the book by touching.
We can make some of the ideas and concepts in the book into small cards and hide them in some corners of the book club, so that everyone can have a "treasure hunt" on the spot.
After each group finds the cards, they need to find other groups to put these cards together and "splic" them into a complete knowledge system, so that everyone can deeply understand the essence of the book.
These immersive experiences can all give participants an immersive, multi-sensory experience during the book club.
part.04
Landing Action Tool Form
The fourth way is the action landing tool form.
The action landing tool form refers to the design of some **, lists, templates and other tools to help participants try, plan, and reflect in the book club, so as to improve their thinking depth and application effect.
These tool sheets help participants translate the knowledge and insights gained from the book club into their own action strategies.
The three forms that I often use in book clubs are:
1. Reading club multi-dimensional ** collision table.
2. Reading club role-play table.
3. Iterative table of knowledge application in the reading club.
Just contact me to get your free access to all three of these form tools.
These three tools and forms suitable for reading clubs are mainly to help book lovers who participate in the scene: deepen the learning experience and feel the surprise results brought by "interacting with books".
On the basis of the cognition of the above four interaction strategies,If you can use facilitation technology to do a book club, you can create a deep experience in the book club.
An in-depth experience in a book club?
The in-depth experience is to allow participants to have a strong emotional response, cognitive awakening and behavior change in the book club.
Immersion is the experience of making guests feel like they're not just listening and watching, but actually participating in a meaningful journey.
The in-depth experience is to let the participants gain something beyond their expectations in the book club.
There was a student who, before he met me, also did a book club, and each reading session had 20 or 40 participants, which is not a small number, right?
He hoped that those book friends could ask him for efficiency improvement counseling or sign up for his career planning courses when they needed it, but before he came to me for tutoring, none of the book friends in the book club looked for him.
Another student, she is a psychological counselor, and she came to me to give her guidance from the beginning of the book club.
Although she has no foundation to run a community, when she first started the book club, there were less than 10 participants at a time, but after each event, many book friends always came to her for psychological counseling. Conversion rate of 40%!
It seems that everyone is doing the same thing, just a few sets - designing the process and form of the book club, promoting the book club, holding the book club, and chatting with book friends after the meeting.
But why do you do similar things, but the results are very different?
Again, half-understanding is more terrible than ignorance!
And many things in this world, if we don't pick out the details and don't understand their essence, you will find that they are almost much worse
People who really want to do a good job in the book club must not just regard the book club as a ...... for learning
A good reading club is a kind of field that can provide solutions, integrate high-quality resources, break the fixed thinking, eliminate blind spots in vision, and promote spiritual connection.
For different groups of people, whether you can provide different content and forms of reading clubs according to their characteristics is a key to improving the user experience.
