2. Important reminder.
At present, the security situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is complex and severe. The security situation in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri continues to deteriorate in eastern Congo, while the situation in the capital Kinshasa and surrounding provinces remains unstable. There was a heavy exchange of fire between the Congo ** Army and the M23 near the city of Goma, North Kivu province. Illegal armed forces such as the ADF and CODECO continue to be engaged in North Kivu, Ituri and other provinces. In the post-turmoil period, violent clashes, armed robberies, kidnappings and other incidents have occurred from time to time, and the security risks faced by Chinese citizens in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are still high. The risk of natural disasters and tropical infectious diseases also increases during the rainy season.
The Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reminds all Chinese citizens in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to resolutely put an end to paralysis and luck, continue to pay close attention to the local situation, and strengthen security precautions. When you go out, please be vigilant, keep in touch with your relatives, friends and colleagues, and avoid risks in time. Chinese-funded institutions located in areas where the security situation has deteriorated significantly are requested to take earnest measures to continue to increase security investment with the highest standards, reduce non-essential personnel, and make emergency plans for adjusting production, operation and personnel arrangements in the event of an emergency. Be cautious when traveling to areas with a high incidence of tropical infectious diseases, and take personal hygiene precautions if necessary.
Chinese citizens are requested not to travel to extremely high-risk areas such as Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Haut-Uélé provinces, and Chinese citizens and enterprises still in the area should evacuate or move to safe areas as soon as possible. Do not travel to 9 provinces including Lualaba, Haut Katanga, Baja Uélé, Tanganyika, Manema, Central Kasai, Sankuru, Lomami, and Alkhan Lomami unless necessary. Chinese citizens who have not yet done so should report their personal information to the embassy as soon as possible (please refer to CDchina-embassy.gov.cn/zytz/202212/t20221215_10990860.htm)。Those who refuse to report information and insist on going to or staying in the above-mentioned areas will be personally responsible for all the consequences arising therefrom.
Please be vigilant against telecom fraud for Chinese citizens, and pay more attention to receiving strangers to avoid being deceived.
In case of emergency, please call the police and contact the embassy in time.
