**KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 4 -- This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and on the eve of the Lunar New Year, the Chinese New Year Gala organized by the Malaysian Chinese Students Association (Malaysian Student Federation) was held at Taylor's University in Kuala Lumpur on the 3rd.

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing said that the number of Chinese students studying in Malaysia has risen from more than 9,000 in 2019 to nearly 40,000, which shows that the bilateral relations and cooperation between China and Malaysia are entering an unprecedented high level, and on the other hand, it also reflects the increasing attractiveness of Malaysian educational institutions to Chinese students. He hoped that the international students would continue to consolidate and carry forward the foundation and tradition of friendship between China and Malaysia after completing their studies.

Chinese students from many universities in Malaysia participated in the Spring Festival Gala. The international students performed self-written and self-directed chorus, traditional folk dance, Chinese folk music, cross talk and other wonderful cultural programs, and the song "Unforgettable Tonight" pushed the atmosphere of the party to a climax.

Cheng Siew Yu, President of the All-Malaysia Federation of Students, said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, international students and the All-Malaysia Federation of Students hope to play a greater role in the exchanges between Chinese and Malaysian youth, students and scholars, and contribute more youth strength, so as to provide more support and contributions to the further warming of China-Malaysia youth relations.
