In the mid-sixties of the 20th century, the singing of "quotation songs" was a product and a major phenomenon soon after the beginning of the Cultural Revolution. The composer robber is the "initiator" of the quotation song and the person who works the most. Today, we will talk to you about how the "quotation song" was produced and sung back then.

In the impression of ordinary people, the robber is the "initiator" of the "quotation song", and its original writing time is August 1966, and the "initiator" is a fact, but the writing time is inaccurate.

The robber's song ** now *** quotation is indeed in 1966, but not in August, but in March. At that time, he went to Xingtai, Hebei Province for earthquake relief with his wife Zhang Luo and Hong Yuan, a lyricist from the Beijing Military Region. The hearts of the people in the disaster area are to the party, and when the words "teach to remember in their hearts", I don't know how to write them later. At this time, he looked up and saw the *** quotation board standing in the village, which read, "Make up your mind, not afraid of sacrifice, overcome all difficulties, and strive for victory!" Hong Yuan slapped his thigh and said, this is it!

So,**This passage was written into the second half of the song, in the "Cultural Revolution", the robber separated the *** quotations in the lyrics of "You Shock You, I Will Do Mine", made some modifications on the basis of the original tone, and named it "Strive for Victory". This song was widely circulated during the "Cultural Revolution". In recent years, its melody can often be heard on domestic football stadiums (played by fan bands) and in Hong Kong-China TV dramas (as a background**).

Of course, "The Initiator" does not refer to the little-known song "You Shock You, I Will Do Mine", but refers to the batch of "quotation songs" written by the robber in the first month of 1966.

Chapter 1: The Strange Situation of the Robbers at the Beginning of the Cultural Revolution

In March 1966, a serious ** occurred in Xingtai, Hebei Province, and the robber and his wife Zhang Luo went to the earthquake relief. Leaving Xingtai, the robber and Zhang Luo stayed in Beijing for a while. They live in the Liaoning office in Beijing, located on Zhangzizhong Road.

There, they met the secretary general of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee. From that man's hands, they saw documents on criticism of "Sanjia Village". The robber said, "It looks like there's going to be a big storm!" The man also said that the storm was not simple.

Back in the room, the robber and Zhang Luo said that they had just eaten a good meal for a few years, and they were tossing around. This was the robber's initial attitude towards the Cultural Revolution.

Soon after the robber and Zhang Luo returned to Shenyang from Beijing, the fire of "* burned "vigorously" on the campus of Shenyang ** College.

Students no longer attend classes, party committees are "smashed", old professors who were once highly respected are branded as reactionary academic authorities, and some ordinary teachers and school staff have become "ghosts, snakes, and gods" for one reason or another. They were criticized, paraded in the streets, wore top hats, shaved their heads, and even worse, Lu Su, secretary of the party committee of the college, was beaten half to death at a criticism meeting.

What is the situation of the robbers?

The situation of the robber was a bit strange, although the secretary of the party committee of the academy was severely beaten, but he, the dean, was elected to the revolutionary committee to lead the movement of the whole academy; Although he was elected to this committee, the big-character posters exposing and criticizing him were still pasted; Although there are many big-character posters about him, there are no such and such hats (such as "revisionists" and the like). What is even more puzzling is that those articles criticizing him always have the titles of "comrade" and "dean" after his name, and the words "you" are used in the writings, and the tone of the writing does not have the gunpowder flavor of the critical articles at that time, on the contrary, they are well-intentioned, and some are even cordial. It can be seen that the rebels seem to be a little helpless against the robbers, and they don't know what to do. Because it's obvious: as a composer, the robber has never written a bad work; As the head of the First Academy, his achievements and contributions are also obvious to all; His style is also decent, and he is also generous and kind to others.

So, they were a little soft on the robbers at first.

However, in August, with the reception of millions of Red Guards in Tiananmen Square, a movement to "break all the old ideas, old cultures, old customs, and old habits" of the exploiting class quickly swept the country, and the "revolutionary generals" of Shenyang ** College also realized that it would not work like this.

In the name of "breaking the four olds", the Red Guards raided the robber's house seven or eight times, three of which were copied within a week, and they copied the antiques and lithographs that the robbers had collected for many years, which were: 38 pairs of lithographs carved from Tianhuang, Jixue, and Shoushan stones; Qin Shi Huang's imitation of the Qin Shi Huang at the turn of the Qin and Han dynasties used to drink wine; The robber bought the Ming Dynasty's woodcut Yuan miscellaneous drama characters and ** silver smoking utensils from the old goods market; a replica of Xu Beihong's eighty-seven immortal figures; All the handicrafts brought back from a visit to Hungary in the fifties.

It is impossible to count the number of books taken. Home, copied again and again, what else are the Red Guards going to do? Caught out? Wearing a top hat on the streets? The robber waited uneasily. However, nothing happened, or before it could happen, but another thing happened: this is to compose music for *** quotes.

Chapter 2: A Man Involved in the Robber's Writing of "Quotation Songs".

So, how did the robber come up with the idea of composing a music for *** quotes? How did these "quote songs" first spread? There was a man named Geng Daquan who helped us solve this mystery. Geng Daquan, male, once served as the deputy editor-in-chief of Liaoning "**Life" magazine.

Geng Daquan has liked ** since he was a child, and he usually has nothing to do, so he blows and pulls together with his friends. Erhu, violin, flute, flute, he drummed everything, and he also composed his own music. In his freshman year of high school, he wrote a small opera. Although it was purely a child's graffiti work, I didn't expect it to not only participate in the district and city secondary performances, but also win awards in the city. At that ceremony, he met the robber for the first time. This was in the spring of 1964.

This unexpected success made him have the idea of wanting to be admitted to the ** college. Soon after, Shenyang held a ** meeting of robbers' works. When he heard the news, he asked his classmate to get a ticket. When the show was over, he didn't leave, he wanted to meet the robber, he wanted to tell the robber his wish. When the audience dispersed, he came backstage to the robber and really told him what he thought. He said, I wrote operettas, you have seen them, and you have given me awards. I want to take the ** college ......The robber was in a good mood that day, shook his hand, and said, "Come to me in the future."

Geng Daquan really went to find the robber. In 1965, he repeatedly took the songs he wrote to the robber's office. The robber always received him warmly and encouraged him, and the robber said that you should learn to sing Peking Opera, which has a rich rhythm ......The rhythm in the song is important, it can make the sentences uneven......In this way, there is movement, and there is momentum when singing. The robber also said that you should memorize the song more often, and remember it, and when it is time to write it, it will naturally flow out; Don't be afraid to be like this and that, just be unified in your song.

Seeing that the robber did not reject people thousands of miles away, and he especially liked children, Geng Daquan ran there more diligently, and the location changed from the dean's office to the robber's house. He still remembered that there was a cylinder on the door of the robber's house, and there was a small cover on the outside of the cylinder, and when the cover was opened, the door mirror was inside. Because he went too often for a while, the robber's second daughter was a little annoyed with him, and as soon as she saw him in the door mirror, she didn't open the door. Whenever this happens, it is always the robber himself who opens the door.

Geng Daquan has a song that has been revised by the robber and is ready to be published in the magazine "**Life". That's when the "** began.

Chapter 3: The hours when the robber composed the music for the quotations

Then, it's August. One day, Geng Daquan, who had already been involved in the torrent of the Red Guard Movement, received a copy of the "Jinggangshan" newspaper sponsored by the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University from Beijing, and saw a song on it, and the words "rebellion is justified" in the song caught his attention.

He thought, ** words can be written into the song, why can't he compose a music specifically for the complete *** quotations? He was excited about this idea, and immediately took out the "** Quotations" in his pocket, and drew a mark in front of the quotations that he thought could be composed in more than 20 paragraphs, and at the same time, he also tried to compose a few songs.

This is the morning. At noon that day, he called a ** to the robber, he said: "Teacher robber, I have an idea, many of the chairman's quotations are suitable for composing music, I tried to write a few ......."You should take the lead in writing. ”

The robber paused at the end of the **, and then said very excitedly: "This idea is good, you come over right away, let's study it."

Geng Daquan threw down the ** and hurried to the robber's house. As soon as he entered the room, Geng Daquan panted and said: "Your composition of music is really beneficial to the propaganda of *** thoughts." The chairman's quotations can be memorized and memorized if they can be sung. Geng Daquan then said: "Hurry up and write it, and I'll teach you to sing." ”

In Shenyang in August, the weather is very hot. At this time, Geng Daquan, who had run a lot of roads and said a lot of things, was already sweating. The robber said, "It's too hot in the house, so let's go outside." So, the robber and Geng Daquan took a small bamboo chair and came to the door of the robber's house. It was around 3 p.m.

Geng Daquan took out the songs he had written (about four) and showed them to the robber, saying, do you think it's okay? The robber took a closer look. He didn't say anything, just turned the pages that Geng Daquan wrote (Geng's song was written in a small diary. He still keeps this diary), then put the notebook on his lap and bowed his head to write it down ("* Quotations" is carried by Geng).

It was around 7 o'clock that the robber stopped writing. He wrote a total of 17 songs. He asked Geng Daquan to name each song, and finally the two agreed that the song title should be the first sentence of each quotation. These 17 songs include: "The Core Force Leading Our Cause," "Striving for Victory," "Revolution Is Not a Dinner Invitation," "Hope Is Pinning Hope on You," "Policies and Tactics Are the Life of the Party," "We Will Support Whatever the Enemy Opposes and We Will Oppose Whatever the Enemy Supports."

After getting the name of the song, Geng Daquan said: "Tomorrow we will hold a meeting of the Red Guards of Liaoning Province in the stadium, and we will print these songs as leaflets and organize students to teach and sing. ”

The robber said, "I'll show you when you've got it." "He didn't leave a manuscript.

Geng Daquan took the song written by the robber and ran to a fellow scholar. This classmate happened to be at home, Geng Daquan explained his intentions, and the classmate said, I know the head of the Red Guard Organization of the Northeast Institute of Technology, let's go there to print, and the two of them ran to the Northeast Institute of Technology and found the person. It was already past 9 o'clock in the evening. Geng Daquan told what happened and his own thoughts. Due to the urgency of the matter, the man didn't think about it and decided to organize someone to engrave it immediately. At one o'clock in the middle of the night, half of the 17 songs had been printed, and the man seemed to have just come back to his senses, and he said, "Is this song really written by the robber?" ”

Geng Daquan said: "If you don't believe it, you can hang ** in the robber's house." The man really hung up right away.

Now his doubts were dispelled. He said happily, "It's really a robber, and the robber told us to print it."

Early the next morning, Geng Daquan came to the robber's house with a large bundle of printed song leaflets, and the robber corrected several small mistakes on the leaflets. Leaving the robber's house, Geng Daquan, who had not slept all night but was not tired at all, hurried back to his school.

Later that day, with the help of his classmates, Geng Daquan took the leaflets printed with "Quotations and Songs" to the Shenyang People's Stadium and distributed them to the tens of thousands of Red Guards gathered there. After that, he and a few classmates who liked ** went to the trolleybus of the ring road in Shenyang to distribute leaflets and teach them to sing these songs.

They taught for a whole week.

Since then, these "quotation songs" of the robbers have soon spread in Shenyang and various places in Liaoning.

Chapter 4: Published in the "Two Newspapers", the "Quotation Song" composed by the robber swept the country

Soon, something happened that the robber and Geng Daquan did not expect. On September 30, 1966, the People's Liberation Army Daily published 10 "quotation songs" on a full page, and both newspapers distributed "editor's notes" at the same time.

Among these 10 quotation songs, 8 of them are robbers, namely "The Core Force Leading Our Cause", "Policy and Strategy are the Life of the Party", "Our Education Policy", "Distinguish Friend from Foe", "We Must Support Whatever the Enemy Opposes, We Must Oppose Whatever the Enemy Supports", "Strive for Victory", "Hope is Pinned on You", "Work is Struggle", and the other two songs were collectively composed by the ** orchestra.

According to Zhu Yuepeng's "On the Publication of the Robber's Composition of Quotations for ***" (January 23, 1967, now in the archives of Shenyang ** College), it is written: "In 1966.

In August and September, Cao Xianwen of "People**" went to the Northeast to compose a draft, and found that the robber had composed dozens of tunes for *** quotations in Shenyang, some of which had been sung among the Red Guards in Shenyang. Cao immediately sent the *** quotation song of the robber's score back to the newspaper. Li Xifan of the Literature and Art Department saw the song and asked me if I could publish it. After studying with the Ministry of Literature and Art, I believe that composing *** quotations into songs and singing them widely is a good form of publicizing *** thoughts, a kind of creation, and it is recommended to publish. Before the publication, I asked the comrades of the Literature and Art Department to ask him about the situation of the robber, and ask him what problems he had and whether he could publish it under his name. Later, a comrade from the Literature and Art Department told me that there was nothing major wrong with the robber and that it could be published in his name. So we wrote 'Editor's Note', put together the selected quotations and songs, sent them to Tang Pingzhu for review, and Tang revised the 'Editor's Note' before approving the publication.

Not long after, newspapers across the country also published these "quotation songs" in the same way. As a result, the "quotation song" produced in Shenyang quickly became popular all over the country.

For a time, the robber became a busy man.

Red Guards from all over the country came to him in droves, some even staying at his house. According to Zhang Luo, at the most, more than 50 Red Guards came to the family in one day. They have only one purpose: to get the robbers to write songs for the *** quotes they have chosen.

Many people who came from the "Cultural Revolution" in Shenyang ** College still remember this situation: in front of the main building of the school, there are often some male and female Red Guards with different accents. They always had one or two leaders come forward and deliver the little book in their hands to the robber who was sitting by the steps. The robbers always took a pencil and wrote on the spot, and handed it to them when they were done.

At that time, not only the Red Guards were asked to write "quotation songs" by robbers, but also newspapers and magazines from all over the country. On December 11, 1966, there was an "editor's note" in "Guangming**", which read: "In order to help the university study the great ideas and teachings on breaking the private government, we have selected some relevant quotations and asked Comrade Robber to compose a music for everyone to learn and sing.

It can be seen that "Bright **" asked the robber to write a "quotation song". A handwritten letter from him kept in the robber's file confirms that he was also invited by the editorial office of the People's Liberation Army Daily.

In this way, at the request of others, plus he also took the initiative to write some, in the next year or two, the robber wrote a large number of "quotation songs". In those two years, many composers wrote "quotation songs", but Shujifu wrote a lot and had a great influence. According to statistics, in one or two years, the robbers have composed more than 100 "quotation songs".
