Recently, Linde signed a memorandum of understanding with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Sinopec"). The two parties will join forces in a series of professional fields such as hydrogen energy and carbon reduction, and actively carry out domestic and foreign cooperation to contribute to the promotion of clean energy transition and the realization of sustainable development goals.
In the face of the global trend of addressing climate challenges and promoting sustainable development, the use of hydrogen energy as one of the important means of carbon reduction provides a new way for the green and low-carbon transformation of all walks of life. In this context, Linde and Sinopec have reached this strategic cooperation based on the close cooperation in the field of industrial gases, focusing on the new field of hydrogen energy carbon reduction.
Sinopec has a complete industrial chain layout in all aspects of the energy and chemical industries, which can provide a large number of hydrogen energy demand and consumption scenarios, and has been actively deploying domestic and foreign markets in recent years, and is committed to using hydrogen energy to achieve carbon emission reduction.
At the same time, Linde has the expertise across the entire hydrogen energy industry chain and a series of world-leading hydrogen energy technologies, and has mature operation experience in hydrogen storage and transportation, clean hydrogen, carbon capture and storage projects around the world.
The complementary advantages of the two parties in this field are not only expected to accelerate the implementation of hydrogen energy decarbonization applications in domestic and foreign markets, but also set a good example of international cooperation in clean energy.
According to the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in a wide range of application scenarios around hydrogen energy carbon reduction, involving all aspects of the hydrogen energy industry chain, including the use of hydrogen energy for carbon reduction, and the promotion of carbon capture, storage and utilization.
This cooperation is expected to enable a wider range of industry users to benefit from the carbon reduction application of hydrogen energy conveniently and economically, so that the sustainable development vision brought by clean energy is within reach.
John Panikar, Executive Vice President and CEO of Linde Asia Pacific, said: "Linde and Sinopec have had a deep cooperation in the field of industrial gases for many years, and we are proud to further deepen and expand this cooperation to jointly explore the market opportunities in the hydrogen sector. Around the world, Linde's expertise in covering the entire hydrogen industry chain has successfully helped various industries promote carbon reduction and green transformation, and we hope to join hands with leading partners like Sinopec in this field to jointly promote the global development of the hydrogen industry and create a win-win future."
