Yuan blue and white glaze from the early Ming Dynasty

Most of the glazed surfaces of the Yuan Dynasty are obviously blue, like duck eggs blue.

Yuan Qinghua. The glaze of the early Ming Dynasty continued the characteristics of the Yuan Dynasty, generally shining blue, and the enamel was warm and thick, looking like a jade texture.

Ming Yongle. The glaze of the Xuande period also has the phenomenon of orange peel, and you can see that there are some obvious small pits on the glaze, just like orange peel.

Ming Xuande. The glaze in the middle of the Ming Dynasty is still green and fat, which is not much different from the early period. After Jiajing, the glaze began to gradually whiten, and the glaze was thinner, without the fat feeling of the early days.

Ming Chenghua. In the early Qing Dynasty, the phenomenon of obvious flashing blue began to appear, and the glaze color was blue-white. At this time, the glaze looks like there is a sense of tightness, the most typical of which is the tight skin bright glaze of the Kangxi period.

Qing Kangxi. After the middle of the Kangxi Dynasty, the white glaze began to gradually increase.

Qing Kangxi. The glaze of the late Qing Dynasty was generally whiter, but the glaze at this time was not as firm and hard as that of the early Qing Dynasty, and it looked softer and had orange peel lines.

Qing Guangxu. Through the above phenomena, we can find a pattern. Whether in the Ming or Qing dynasties, its early glaze was shiny blue, and in the late period it turned white.
