In today's fast-paced society, career choices have become a problem that everyone must face. Especially in recent years, the recession of the Internet industry has made many people begin to re-examine their career plans. In this case, many people choose to change tracks and pursue a more stable employment environment.
And the working environment within the system represents the stability that many ordinary people are looking for. This stability is manifested in the fact that it is usually not prone to frequent layoffs due to market economic fluctuations, and it is not susceptible to unemployment due to economic downturns.
However, a stable job doesn't mean it's for everyone. Some people said that in July last year, he took a salary cut from a large Internet factory and joined a state-owned enterprise, and the work was very easy, but he only paid 970 yuan when he paid the year-end bonus. Although I know that this may be normal in state-owned enterprises, I still can't avoid the huge gap caused by this salary difference.
In 2021, I have a colleague who is the same, he joined a central enterprise in his hometown Chongqing with a salary cut from bytes, and his annual salary was reduced from more than 400,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan per month. When they first got the offer, they were very happy, because they bought two apartments in Chongqing, and his wife and children lived in Chongqing, and he was the only one in Beijing. This opportunity allows them to finally live in a city.
After returning to Chongqing, he first contacted me and said that he felt good, whether it was the work intensity, working hours, or working environment.
What I didn't expect was that when he contacted me two months later, he revealed that he was anxious. The reason is that his salary is simply not enough for the mortgage and family expenses, and he has to use his savings every month to make up for it. Although the work is easy, the financial troubles are back.
Later, he also found other Internet jobs in Chongqing, but there were not many job opportunities, and the salary was not high. In the end, I had no choice but to return to Beijing again, so I could only continue to choose to live in a different place with my wife and children.
I was particularly impressed by him, which is why I have not dared to change careers so far. In the workplace, while pursuing stability, we must also recognize our own abilities and the environment in which we live. Sometimes, changing areas or locations doesn't mean you're getting better. A stable work environment is important, but it is even more important to find a job that meets your abilities and the demands of life.
I think each of us has our own choices and persistences in the workplace. Some people choose stability, some people choose high salaries, some people choose entrepreneurship, some people choose the industry they love, and some people continue to explore different fields. Each option has its pros and cons, and the key is whether we can find the right place for us.
Many times in the workplace, we are confused by the dilemma in front of us, and think that a different environment or field can solve the problem. But what we really have to do is to look at our own abilities and where we stand, find the direction that suits us, and then persevere in our efforts to achieve it.
In the workplace, stability does not mean stagnation, but constant adaptation and adjustment to find the right balance for you. Only by perseverance and hard work can we finally achieve career success and self-worth.
