No matter how complex the discipline is, or how difficult the logic is, it all comes from our observation of a certain phenomenon. For human beings as a group, the so-called development is the process of observing, understanding, analyzing, and applying. And the reason why we think that this world is scientific and material is nothing more than that science goes further than metaphysics. The bottom line is that science has created tools that allow us to push the boundaries of what we shouldn't be observing.
The most difficult thing about metaphysics is that it is not directly displayed in front of us. That is, he cannot confirm or prove a certain hypothesis that we can observe through a phenomenon that we can observe, as science does. Therefore, in the process of studying metaphysics, we must focus on its core. To put it bluntly, that is, the alternation of day and night and the change of the four seasons, this is the only conclusion that cannot be broken when we study metaphysics.
As for the other books, they are more like different people, based on different perspectives, on this basis, combined with their own historical backgrounds. Due to the level of the editors, there is a big gap between the upper and lower limits of this type of book. In my opinion, the Tao Te Ching is the ceiling in it. Of course, it is not because he is famous enough, but because he was born in the Tao and does not stick to the Tao, we can understand it as the world in Lao Tzu's eyes, or Lao Tzu's view of right and wrong, world view.
When it comes to metaphysics, the I Ching is a book that we can't bypass, and the winners are proud to study the I Ching. And in my opinion, the I Ching is more like a book that is not worthy of virtue. At a time when the mainland's economy had not yet developed, it was rare to hear anyone boasting about the I Ching at that time. When the last trend comes out, the wave of boasting about the I Ching comes out. In essence, when Wanwan has no psychological advantage in the economy, he retreats to the next best thing, lifts the I Ching up, and pursues the psychological advantage of metaphysical culture. Many people may also have thought about why people who study the Book of Changes and metaphysics are more famous. And this matter needs to be viewed from two perspectives, one of which is the psychological advantages of metaphysical culture mentioned above, which may also have the meaning of inheritance in their perspective. Second, it is blown out by many people who study the I Ching, and elevate the status of the I Ching and the so-called masters of the bend, and they themselves will gain asymmetric competitiveness because of the study of the I Ching. And more people, following the crowd, also blindly pursue the Book of Changes, which has a kind of meaning of a dog barking and a hundred dogs barking.
Of course, the reason why we criticize the I Ching is because it is more important than technique and less important than Tao. He is more like a discussion written by ourselves, pressing the arguments and wantonly venting his opinions. Mix a lot of unreasonable, meaningless things into it. And for many people who don't have much talent, they only see these things that don't have much meaning. There is quite a feeling that the meaning of this book is to fool the public. Two of them have God, and eight of them have their form.
And numerology books such as the Three Lives Society and the Dripping Heavenly Marrow, all of them are skills, without any shadow of the Tao. Anyone who reads them falls into the trap of when this technique is reasonable, without considering whether the technique itself is reasonable. If you pay too much attention to one point, you will often not be able to see the overall situation clearly. Too much urgency is often a sign of not being well prepared. In terms of numerology and metaphysics, it is difficult to make achievements without sufficient precipitation. And in terms of numerology, the most important thing is actually the vision, not the actual combat that many people think. Maybe this is metaphysics, and the importance of understanding is above all else.
