On September 27, 1955, the capital Zhongnanhai Huairen Hall held the first award ceremony after the founding of New China.
The award ceremony is an honor for these people who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of the Chinese revolution and the founding of New China, and is loved by the people of the motherland and remembered by history.
Every soldier who has been awarded the rank of military will never be forgotten by the motherland, the people, and generations of Chinese sons and daughters in future generations will never forget that it is their dedication to the people's interests that has given rise to New China without fear of sacrifice, hardship and hardship, and always putting the interests of the people first.
And then not only them, but also some people who also dedicated their lives to the revolutionary cause, drowned in the torrent of time, history has not been recorded, and naturally there is no military rank.
But with a little trace, we also have to know that today's prosperous China is a thriving scene, and in this military medal, the people have given it to them in their hearts.
The Red 24th Army of that year was such an existence that made great sacrifices for the revolutionary cause, so much so that the entire army disappeared. But at the 1955 award ceremony, no one in this army was awarded.
What ups and downs did the Red 24th Army encounter? And why did he make such a great contribution and sacrifice and not be awarded a military rank?
The Red 24th Army was a Red Army established in an uprising. In 1930, a major battle in the Central Plains gave Chiang Kai-shek a complete victory.
The defeated Yan Xishan and Feng Yuxiang were entrenched in Shanxi, and the forces of the various warlords were intertwined, and the open and secret battles between the warlords brought great chaos to the lives of the local people.
In addition to the oppression of the people, it is also extremely harsh on the soldiers, and the soldiers are also difficult to speak.
Among them, the 11th Division of Gao Guizi under Feng Yuxiang had the most difficult time, because it was not from the regular army, and it had been squeezed out and suppressed by the regular army.
However, in this team of irregular soldiers, there were many Communists, and He Guang was the most influential of them.
He Guang was already a Communist, and Liu Mingde and others also survived the Great Revolution and never revealed their identity as Communists.
These people were hidden in the National Revolutionary Army, but secretly they were doing the work of recruiting the Communists, and under their influence, many people who were dissatisfied with the warlords' style joined the ranks of the Communists.
Gradually, the idea of the Red Revolution penetrated deeper and deeper, and not only individual people joined the Communist Party, but even entire companies collectively became the ranks of the Communist Party.
The growing revolutionary contingent accelerated the pace of the mutiny uprising, and finally on the night of July 4, 1931, Gu Xiongyi and He Guang took the lead in launching an uprising in Binh Dinh County.
Gu Xiongyi's famous "Pacification Uprising" is about this incident, 8 regiments, 1,200 people, unveiled the uprising, officially broke away from the warlords, and the rebel troops also established the 24th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Thus was born the Red 24th Army.
After the establishment of the Red 24th Army, He Guang became the commander of the Red 24th Army, and Gu Xiongyi became the political commissar.
Since then, the Red 24th Army has really made a name for itself in the Central Plains, and some local tyrants and inferior gentry have fled in fright as soon as they heard about the Red 24th Army.
The Red 24th Army went all the way south, annihilated countless enemy troops along the way, and finally conquered Fuping, Hebei, and took root here.
Keeping in mind that the interests of the people are above all else, they have opened warehouses and released grain for the people in the local area, mingled with the local people, helped the people grow grain together, and protected the safety of the people.
It also established the Soviets in the local area, which was the earliest armed revolutionary contingent in the Northwest and the earliest Soviet power.
The local people, seeing with their own eyes the Red Army's kindness to the people, truly realized that only the Red Army was for the good of the people and sincerely wanted to lead the people to live a good life.
The gradual infiltration of the ideas of the Red Revolution, coupled with the Red 24th Army's actions of defending the people everywhere, made more local people join this contingent one after another.
This kind of absorption even spread to the surrounding counties, and the Red 24th Army was also here, growing day by day, and it didn't take long for the team of only 1,200 people to develop into a team of more than 4,000 people.
But after all, because of the expansion of the power of the Red 24th Army, Chiang Kai-shek was afraid, so Zhang Xueliang, who was sitting in Beiping at that time, sent troops to exterminate the Red 24th Army.
Zhang Xueliang knew that the Red 24th Army was by no means a good type, and his own army was not necessarily an opponent, so he sent this thankless errand to Shen Ke. Who is Shen Ke?
Shen Ke used to be a bandit leader, and he once had friendships with He Guang, Gu Xiongyi and others, and Shen Ke, who was treacherous by nature, also knew that this hot potato was not easy to take.
But he didn't have a good impression in front of Zhang Xueliang, but this time he also wanted to take the opportunity to perform well and be appreciated, so he took over the task head-on.
The cunning Shen Ke knew that if he had a hard fight with the Red 24th Army, he would definitely not be able to get good fruit to eat, his own team, bandits, and the Red 24th Army were all from officers, and the disparity in strength was too great.
Since Shen Ke can't be tough, then he will plot. Shen Ke spread the news that he was excluded under Zhang Xueliang and wanted to join the Red Army, and in the Red 24th Army, he had heard about it, especially He Guang and Gu Xiongyi also knew Shen Ke's situation. There is no doubt about this.
Not long after spreading the news, seeing that the time was ripe, Shen Kebian wrote to He Guang and Gu Xiongyi, telling him what happened to Zhang Xueliang, and the exclusion and suppression he received made him unbearable.
Shen Ke expressed his willingness to lead the team to surrender, and at the same time hoped that He Guang and Gu Xiongyi would be able to preach the red revolutionary ideas in their own troops, so that their troops could also receive education in revolutionary ideas.
In this way, He Guang and Gu Xiongyi were moved by Shen Ke's miserable sale and hypocrisy, accepted the surrender, and led a group of leaders to preach.
But at the moment of entering the camp of the other party, He Guang and Gu Xiong, who had thrown themselves into the net, were directly surrounded and killed by Shen Ke, leaving no room for anything.
The leader has been killed, the Red 24th Army has no backbone, and Shen Ke took the opportunity to directly lead a large army to attack Fuping and smash the Soviets.
The Red 24th Army, which had no leader, did not survive the attack of Shen Ke's army after all, and while confronting the enemy, it retreated in the direction of northern Shaanxi under the leadership of Chief of Staff Liu Mingde.
In the battle between Fuping and Shen Ke, the Red 24th Army suffered heavy losses, and on the way to retreat, Shen Ke's army still pursued relentlessly, encircling and intercepting all the way, and when it arrived in northern Shaanxi, the entire Red 24th Army was left with only 67 people.
The remaining 67 people were finally incorporated into the Red 27th Army, and in this way, the Red 24th Army completely disappeared into the long river of history.
The Red 24th Army, a Red Revolutionary Army that has not been recorded in history, has not been awarded any military ranks. However, the red revolutionary spirit of this contingent is something we must never forget.
In that chaotic era, they went through all kinds of hardships, spread the spirit of the red revolution throughout the Central Plains, strengthened the ranks of the revolution, and made outstanding contributions to the development of the communist cause.
Although there is not much history recorded, the local people will remember it at that time, and their children will remember it for generations. It is a pity that they were not awarded military ranks, but their revolutionary spirit will always stand on the land of China.
