Asian Cup 1 4 finals: Iran counterattacks Japan, Qatar beats Uzbekistan on penalties.
In the 1 4 finals of the Asian Cup, Iran and Japan had a fierce contest. Although Japan was the favourite, Iran won 2-1 with a tenacious fighting spirit and excellent performance to advance to the semi-finals.
In the first half, Japan's Hidemasa Morita scored to help the team take a 1-0 lead. However, Iran's Azmoun assisted Mohebi to equalize in the second half and take the game into extra time. In injury time, Japan's Itakura sent a penalty, and Iran's Jahan scored a penalty into the net, and finally Iran reversed Japan 2:1 to win.
The other 1 4 finals were played between hosts Qatar and Uzbekistan. In the first half, Haydos' pass caused goalkeeper Yusopov to own the goal, and Qatar led 1-0. In the second half, Uzbekistan made a series of dangerous mistakes, and Hamrobekov equalized to take the game into extra time. In extra-time, neither side achieved anything. The game came to a brutal penalty shootout, with Miguel scoring the winning goal in the penalty shootout with Qatar 3:2 Uzbekistan. In the end, the Qatar team advanced to the semi-finals with a thrilling score of 4:3.
