Brother Su founded the country and unexpectedly became one of the five tyrants of the Spring and Autumn Period
Have you ever watched the story of "The Warrior King"? Although the story takes place in a fictional world, it successfully portrays the setting in the last years of the Shang Dynasty. At that time, in the last years of the Shang Dynasty, the emperor Emperor Xin (also known as the king of Zhou) was unscrupulous and cruel, which led to the hardship of the people and the oppression of the princes.
In such an environment, Xiqi came into being and gradually grew, and as time passed, the contradictions between Ji Chang Ji Fa and his son, the alliance of the princes, and the king of the Tsuki deepened, and finally a great war broke out in Makino.
As a result, the king of Xuan was defeated in the court song and died, and the Shang Dynasty came to an end. Although the king died, his relatives did not suffer from the pond fish. Even one of the elder brothers of the king was canonized as a prince by Ji Fa and had his own fief.
His descendants even served as overlords in the Spring and Autumn Period, and once again experienced the life of a king. So, what kind of legendary life did this prince have? Today we will reveal his story.
King Xuan is not Emperor Yi's biological son, his real eldest son is Wei Ziqi. Many may wonder why the throne ended up in the hands of Emperor Xin instead of the eldest son, Wei Zi Qi.
Here's a little bit about primogeniture: During the slave tribal period, the power and duties of the tribal leader were similar to those of later kings, and the way of succession of the chief was mainly Zen.
That is, the leaders of the older generation select new people for training, and after completing the experience, they will hand over power and responsibilities to him. However, all this changed during the Dayu period.
Dayu, the hero who saved the world, did not hand over the power to others in accordance with the principle of the Zen concession system, but handed it over to his son Qi. Qi relied on the power in his hands to establish the Xia Dynasty, the first slave dynasty in the history of our country, which created a model of family and the world, marking the first appearance of the concept of "state".
The establishment of the Xia Dynasty was of epoch-making significance, as it promoted the rapid development of Chinese civilization and rapidly improved important social factors such as productivity. However, at the same time as the rapid development of society, a new problem was placed in front of the ruling class.
In general, kings have many sons, but only one on the throne, which makes cannibalism frequent.
In order to ensure the fairness of the inheritance order, the aristocracy gradually formed a primogeniture system. This system was well established during the Shang and Zhou dynasties, stipulating that only the first son, the "eldest son", born to the ruler's wife (usually the queen), was eligible to inherit the throne.
The term "eldest son" here contains two concepts: one is "eldest son" and the other is "eldest son". Since the concubine is born to the queen, he has the right of priority in inheritance, and if there is no concubine, the eldest son inherits.
Because of this system, Micro eventually lost the opportunity to inherit the throne. His mother had a very low status and was only a concubine, so she was not eligible to inherit.
Although Di Yi admired those benevolent micro-sons more, he could not change the rules of the primogeniture system, so he could only reluctantly pass the throne to Di Xin. As a result, the king stepped onto the political stage, as the old saying goes, "brothers in battle", his eldest brother treated him very well on weekdays, and after he took the throne, he not only gave them the best fiefdom and wealth, but also often discussed important matters with them.
It can be seen that Di Xin, who has just ascended the throne, attaches great importance to the relationship with his relatives. However, as time passed, the dark side of the king's personality was gradually exposed, and no matter how much he persuaded him, he couldn't listen to it, and finally his eldest brother Weizi chose to go into hiding in a fit of anger.
Weizi is very clear about the current situation of the Shang Dynasty, although on the surface the state is still functioning, but in fact the Shang Dynasty has begun to decline, and the national strength is getting weaker and weaker.
Weizi proposed to recuperate with a policy of light taxation and meager endowment, reversing the decline of the Shang Dynasty, and repeatedly advised the king to no avail. The king was stubborn and self-serving, refusing to adopt the concept of microns, but instead expanding externally, using troops and military force, although there was a contribution to the spread of culture, but it increased the burden of the people, and the people everywhere complained.
The brutal and distorted character of the king began to appear, and the people of the world were miserable because of his reckless military force, labor and money. His unrighteous behavior is only to satisfy his own selfish desires, and he regards the life and death of the people as dung.
To assert his authority, he pioneered a series of brutal tortures and seemed to amuse others by torturing them every day. Miko, Bigan and Miko and others tried to persuade him, however, he seemed to be possessed by demons, and not only did not listen to the persuasion, but also brutally punished Bigan and Miko.
Looking at the heart-gouging Bigan and the imprisoned Miko, Weizi understands that although he is the eldest brother of the King of the Ring, he cannot change the status quo by himself.
The king indulged in wine and treated his subjects cruelly, and Weizi was unwilling to echo him, so he angrily left Chaoge City and chose to live in seclusion. Years later, Ji Fa defeated King Su in the Battle of Makino, the Shang Dynasty fell, and the people were freed.
As a prince of the previous dynasty, Wei Ziqi was worried about whether the new dynasty would make things difficult for the remnants of the Shang Dynasty, and he was uneasy. Under such circumstances, he chose to re-emerge and seek a way to survive.
After some twists and turns, Weizi learned that Ji Fa treated the remnants of the Shang Dynasty with generosity and kindness, not only did not do any harm, but also let Wu Geng, the son of the king of Zhou, inherit the sacrificial rites of Yin Shang and become a prince.
Weizi breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that Wu Geng and other descendants were treated fairly, and decided to meet Ji Fa in person. Ji Fa has also been looking for Weizi, he is a benevolent king, he has heard about Weizi's noble qualities very early, and he is unwilling to serve the king of Weizi, and lives in seclusion in the mountains and forests.
In Ji Fa's eyes, the eldest brother is very different from the cruel and unkind King Su, and Weizi is a real benevolent and righteous man. Therefore, when Miko came to Ji Fa with a nervous mood, the latter was very excited.
Weizi confessed his mistakes to Ji Fa, and Ji Fa said that everything Weizi did was for the sake of the people. As the proverb goes: "A man doesn't flick when he has tears, but he doesn't get to the sad place." ”
Hearing this, Miko couldn't help but cry. Over the years, their advice has been regarded as a traitor by the king of Zhou, and Bigan has died because of it. Weizi's heart was full of pain, and he felt extremely painful watching his brothers misunderstand him, and even ** himself.
Before, he couldn't express the pain, but now someone who understood him finally appeared. The grievances of these years have finally been vented.
At the moment when Weizi burst into tears, although Wuwang Jifa felt a little uncomfortable, he still decided to let Weizi return to his ** prominent position, believing that he could help himself or the next generation of monarchs govern the country well.
As it turned out, Ji Fa's prediction was correct, and many years later, when King Wu died, Weizi and Zhou Gong assisted the young King Zhou Cheng to take power. At that time, Wu Geng, who was sealed in the land of Yin Shang, made a stupid rebellion due to his inflated ambitions.
In the face of Wu Geng's rebellion, Weizi and Zhou Gong immediately deployed, and finally under the powerful offensive of the Zhou army, Wu Geng's army was completely wiped out, and he was later sentenced to death.
After Wu Geng's death, the land of Yin Shang was ownerless, and in order to stabilize the situation, Duke Zhou discussed with Weizi and decided to make him the new prince. As the eldest brother of the King of Zhou, Weizi has a deep relationship with the original Shang Dynasty monarch and is just able to take over this place.
Weizi was highly respected and respected by the old people of the Shang Dynasty. If he became a prince, he might be better able to appease the remnants of the Shang Dynasty. As a result, Weizi went to establish a new regime and become a prince of the land of Yin Shang, and the process went well.
The Western Zhou Dynasty bestowed a new state name on him, Song. Since then, the Song Kingdom, which was dominant during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, officially stepped onto the stage of history, and Weizi, as the first generation of Song monarchs, was also regarded as the ancestor of the Song State by later generations.
Hundreds of years later, the time came to the Spring and Autumn Period, although the territory of the Song State was not large, but under the leadership of the shrewd monarch, it was still thriving in the troubled times, and Song Xianggong even became the leader of the princes for a time, dominating the Spring and Autumn Period.
After the Song Xianggong, the successive monarchs of the Song Dynasty always kept up with the pace of the times. It was not until 284 BC that the country was finally destroyed. Because of its integrity and loyalty, Weizi has reaped hundreds of years of national fortune, and even started a period of hegemony, which fully proves the ancient adage of "people are doing, the sky is watching", and those who do good deeds will be rewarded.
