The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major national strategy personally planned, deployed and promoted by the general secretary. Since its establishment in 1995, the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association has a deep and close relationship with Guangdong Province, and many member enterprises of the association have invested and set up factories in Guangdong Province. In 2019, the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association (HKIAE) actively participated in the economic and trade exchanges and investment cooperation in the Greater Bay Area.
As a platform for economic, trade and investment exchanges and cooperation, the association also often receives business delegations from various cities in Guangdong Province in Hong Kong, allowing investors and partners to meet and jointly share the eight international center functions of Hong Kong positioned in the 14th Five-Year Plan of the People's Republic of China, and the business opportunities for exchange and cooperation between the two sides in various fields of high-quality economic development. We would like to thank the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province for providing many opportunities and assistance for the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association to contribute to the Chinese-style development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Representatives from the Professional Committee of the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association (HKICCO) were Chairman Tam Tin Fong and Vice Chairman of the Real Estate Development Committee, Professor Kwan Pin Fong, Chairman of the Education and Training Committee, Su Ying, Chairman of the Made in China Committee, Cheng Chun Wai, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Cultural and Creative Committee, Chen Siuqun, Vice Chairman of the International Trade Committee, Ding Jianyi, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Cuisine Committee, and Vice Chairman Chen Peiheng and Chen Qingdong.
Director Cai Liyun introduced the GDP of Guangdong Province in 2023 to 1357 trillion yuan, the total amount of the country for 35 consecutive years. In her speech, she thanked the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association for its positive contribution to the economic and trade cooperation between Hong Kong's business community and Guangdong. As the economic and trade window of Guangdong in Hong Kong, the representative office will work with relevant Hong Kong institutions and business associations to jointly provide services to the Hong Kong business community and promote close cooperation between Hong Kong companies and multinational enterprises in Hong Kong and Guangdong. At the same time, it will maintain close communication with the Hong Kong International Economic and Trade Co-operation Association and its subordinate professional committees, and promote the following three aspects: First, timely feedback the concerns of the members of the association to the relevant departments in the mainland for coordination and resolution, and promote more member enterprises of the association to invest and develop in Guangdong. Second, we hope to work with the association to plan the post-epidemic economic and trade exchanges and investment cooperation meetings between Guangdong and Hong Kong, and sincerely invite the member companies of the association to participate in the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Conference to understand the new policies and new business opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. The third is to combine the advantages of the professional committees of the association, plan to organize the delegation of the association to visit Guangdong and jointly organize industrial investment activities. It is hoped that the focus will be on docking with the China Manufacturing Committee of the Association, and how to give full play to the role of the manufacturing base of Guangdong Province, take Guangdong Province as a solid hinterland for the manufacturing member enterprises of the Association, and promote the member enterprises to become bigger and stronger in Guangdong Province.
Vice Chairman Chan Pui-hang pointed out that Hong Kong needs to clearly understand the uniqueness of "One Country, Two Systems", face adversity and difficulties with great wisdom, and cooperate with the Greater Bay Area to face the international market, so as to play the greatest role in the integrated economic development of itself and the Greater Bay Area. It also proposes to design an overseas structure for Greater Bay Area enterprises to go global along the Belt and Road, plan for the listing of Greater Bay Area enterprises in Hong Kong or the United States, and provide professional services for overseas capital docking and investment in the Greater Bay Area. Chairman Pinfang pointed out that the integrated development of the Greater Bay Area requires the citizens of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the compatriots of Guangdong Province to strengthen interaction and exchanges, so as to achieve spiritual harmony. In this regard, there is great room for development in the education and training industry, and we will formulate a work plan to give full play to the strengths of both sides, fully communicate and cooperate for long-term cooperation, and cultivate talents for comprehensive thinking and innovative thinking for the Greater Bay Area. Chairman Su Ying introduced the beneficial experience of its listed company, Unilumin Technology, as the world's largest manufacturer and operator of LED semiconductor lighting display products and professional scene solutions, in expanding the Middle East market. It is believed that in terms of 5D bare-eyed and immersive digital light and shadow art in the night economy, Hong Kong's advantages can be leveraged to provide assistance for the prosperity of the night economy in various cities in Guangdong Province.
Passionate about the exchange and cooperation between cities in the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong in the cultural and creative industries, Chairman Cheng Chun-wai acquired the century-old Cheung Chau Cinema on Cheung Chau Island, Hong Kong, to preserve, redevelop and develop it into a multicultural exchange park. Looking forward to bringing together the intangible cultural heritage of cities in Guangdong Province to showcase the rich diversity, colour and vitality of the Greater Bay Area, Vice Chairman Chan Chien also suggested that Hong Kong go out to tell China's good story of the prosperity and development of the Greater Bay Area. Chairman Tam Tin Fong and Vice Chairman Ku Ka Yee look forward to Hong Kong's participation in the green building design of the Greater Bay Area, so that man-made buildings can be balanced with the natural environment, especially bamboo construction projects. We also provide professional services in Hong Kong in terms of large-scale real estate project planning, the latest international development and management experience. Vice Chairman Chen Shaoqun has been involved in the export of many high-quality commodities in Guangdong Province, although the foreign trade situation is severe and complex in the new year, he still persists in making unremitting efforts to expand the emerging markets of different countries, and hopes that the Provincial Department of Commerce can recommend more relevant high value-added green transformation products and create some opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
Vice Chairman Ding Jianyi introduced the introduction of Shunde cuisine to the development of Hong Kong and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland as a theme food on the night, which became a good story.
