Red Net Moment News reporter Peng Chao reported from Changsha
He used to be a senior Chinese teacher in Changsha County No. 1 Middle School, and resolutely gave up the "iron rice bowl" in the eyes of people and devoted himself to public welfare. His "Warm Winter Campaign" has donated a large number of cold materials to schools in Tibetan areas, helping tens of thousands of children survive the cold winter. He is Tang Lin, who has interpreted the selflessness and great love of educators with his actions, and has become a hero in people's hearts.
Recently, after the evaluation of 6 departments including the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Civilization Office, 4 people in Changsha were awarded the 9th Hunan Provincial Moral Model, among which Tang Lin, chairman of the Changsha County Mingming Education Charity Development Center, was awarded the Hunan Provincial Model for Helping People.
On November 10, 2023, the sixth season of the "Warm Winter Action" initiated by Tang Lin, a "good man in China", officially set off, two large trucks full of winter clothes, school bags, warm babies, lip balm and other materials set off against the wind and rain, and rushed to the already snow-capped Tibetan area, this operation called "Warm Winter" passed through Ganzi, Sichuan, **Qamdo, Nagqu, Lhasa, Shigatse and other places, warming the cold winter of 5,477 children in Tibetan areas, and also becoming a moving scenery on this long road of more than 6,000 kilometers.
This is Tang Lin's 12 years of charity. Tang Lin's office, plaques and pennants are dazzling, all of which have been sent by the beneficiaries over the years. In the cabinet are stacks of paper materials, proof of receipt of materials from the donated school, and receipts issued by the driver of the rental vehicle that delivered the materials. Each one is clear. "I am a 'grassroots' philanthropist, and over the years, every donation I have received will be clearly recorded, and the flow of materials and funds can be traced. Tang Lin said.
Charity began out of compassion, then out of moral inspiration, and now it is a belief for Tang Lin. In 1997, Tang Lin had just joined the job as a teacher, and a student in his class was about to drop out of school due to his family's poverty. After learning about the situation, Tang Lin took out one-third of his monthly salary to supplement his living expenses, and also gave him a permanent bicycle that he earned from working in college as a means of transportation to and from school every day, and paid the college entrance examination registration fee for him.
Since 2011, Tang Lin has used winter and summer vacations to go to ** and Xiangxi to do public welfare. "At that time, people thought I was morally noble, and I saw the hope that my efforts brought to the children, but time was limited. Tang Lin said that charity can change a person's fate. He gradually came up with the idea of resigning. In 2015, Tang Lin resigned from the "iron rice bowl" in people's minds and devoted himself to public welfare.
Since then, Tang Lin has embarked on the road of charity, and is now the chairman of the Changsha County Ming Education Charity Development Center.

At present, Tang Lin helps students in poor areas such as Xiangxi Hunan and Xinjiang through the "Ming Direct Donation" and the "Warm Winter Action". "Singing Direct Donation" is to allow people to "pair" with poor families through direct donations to achieve one-to-one assistance. Aid behaviors include material assistance, financial assistance, psychological counseling, emotional communication, etc. Each student will be strictly screened, and will be recommended by the class teacher, verified by the school and village group, and conducted a household survey, and then meet with the child, the school and the guardian.
Since 2011, Tang Lin has initiated the "Mingming Direct Donation" charity activity to provide one-to-one material assistance and psychological counseling for students in need in Xiangxi, Hunan, Xinjiang and other places, and has helped more than 260 people so far. Over the past 12 years, the "Warm Winter Action" has raised and donated more than 170,000 pieces of winter clothes, gloves and shoes, more than 200 yuan in grants, and more than 2,000 yuan in material funds for children in remote Tibetan areas.
Every time I send supplies, I will personally send them with everyone's love. What makes Tang Lin happy is that as his fame for giving love grows, more and more people support him to do public welfare, and the team of caring people is getting longer and longer.
I have been working out 4 days a week, and I also want to go to some remote areas such as ** to help more children. I'll keep going until I can't walk on my own. Between the words, Tang Lin, who is about to enter his 50s, has a light in his eyes, and charity has become his belief.
