"Brazil does not accept a world in which differences are resolved by force" and that differences must be resolved through dialogue and cooperation, within the framework of multilateralism and with the support of the United Nations, and not through armed conflict, Vieira said.

Patrick Vieira said Brazil is deeply concerned about the current international peace and security situation, with the increasing number of conflicts taking place around the world and the continued increase in geopolitical tensions. However, the current multilateral institutions are ill-equipped to meet these challenges, which require profound reforms in global governance.

The G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro from 21 to 22 July, with global governance reform as one of the main topics. Ma Zhaoxu, Vice Minister of China, led a delegation to attend the Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Brazil has been holding the G20 presidency since December 1 last year. Brazil** said that during its one-year term, work will be organized around three central themes: the fight against hunger, poverty and inequality, sustainable development and global governance reform.
