School Profile: The school has a long history, and its predecessor can be traced back to the establishment of the Beijing Normal University Hall in 1902, which is one of the earliest teacher education institutions in China. Later, the school underwent many name changes and adjustments, and in 1958, it was transferred from the Ministry of Education to the leadership of Gansu Province and renamed Gansu Normal University. In 1981, the school reverted to its original name, Northwest Normal College. In 1988, the school officially changed its name to Northwest Normal University, a name that is still in use today.
