The key to changing the name of "Seeking Truth" depends on whether the red flag is held high
Some have recently made a proposal to raise sensitive topics: to rename Qiushi magazine to Red Flag. The reason why it is called "Zhengming" is because the predecessor of "Qiushi" magazine was "Red Flag".
Proponents argue that justification is logical. In my opinion, the key to whether or not it should be justified lies in finding out whether Qiushi magazine continues the original intention of Hongqi magazine, whether it sticks to its mission, and whether it holds high the banner of the Communist Party of China.
Red Flag magazine was first published on June 1, 1958 and ended on July 1, 1988. As the theoretical journal and mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, she is the authority of the Chinese Communists and the people of the whole country in studying Marxism-Leninism and ideology.
As for why "Red Flag" magazine was renamed "Qiushi", there is a profound background of the times behind it, and it cannot be summarized simply. Not to mention, there is no distinction between the names of the two publications.
Because although the name of the journal has changed, the original intention and mission of founding this magazine have not changed, and she is still the theoretical journal and mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China.
Qiushi" magazine has inherited the fine tradition of the "red flag", adhered to the Marxist-Leninist ideology of seeking truth from facts, and at the same time, pointed out the direction and laid a theoretical foundation for China's reform and opening up through research, propaganda and education on the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
It is worth mentioning that Comrade ** once served as the first editorial board member of the "Red Flag" magazine. The renaming of "Red Flag" to "Qiushi" was a decision made after careful study in accordance with China's actual needs at that time, and it was justified.
Although the "red flag" has passed and "seeking truth" has become the new banner, there is no need for us to discuss the issue of "seeking truth" to correct its name, because practice has proved that it is correct.
What we should do is to unite and look forward, concentrate on construction, and wholeheartedly seek development, so that we can move towards a broad road.
