Emperor Longqing was the twelfth emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and his name was Zhu Zaikun. Perhaps he is not as well-known as his father, Emperor Jiajing, and his son, Emperor Wanli. Emperor Jiajing reigned for 45 years, and Emperor Wanli reigned for 48 years, and both of them were known for not being able to go to court. And Emperor Longqing only reigned for 6 years, and he was often ignored because of the high profile of his father and son. But Longqing also has good political achievements, such as my answer to the tribute, Longqing switch, Longqing New Deal and so on.
However, in the later period of Longqing, because Zhu Zaikun was addicted to flattering drugs and overindulged, he died after only 6 years of reign at the age of 36.
In the short life of Emperor Longqing, he had four sons, what life experiences did they have?
Zhu Yili (1555-1559, 5 years old), the eldest son of Ming Muzong and the mother princess Li, was posthumously presented to Empress Xiaoyizhuang.
When Jiajing was born in the thirty-fourth year (1555), his father Ming Muzong was still King Yu.
He died in the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing (1559) at the age of five, and was given the title of Yu Shizi.
After his father ascended the throne, he was posthumously crowned Prince Xianhuai in the first year of Longqing (1567).
Zhu Yiling, the second son of Ming Muzong Zhu Zaikun, the mother princess Li, was posthumously presented to Queen Xiaoyizhuang. Zhu Yiling died less than a year old, was given the title of Lantian King, the first year of Longqing (1567) posthumously named King Jing, buried in Jinshan.
Mingshenzong Zhu Yijun (1563-1620, 58 years old) was the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty, with the year name Wanli, and was the third son of Zhu Zaikun of Ming Muzong.
In the sixth year of Longqing (1572), Ming Muzong died, and nine-year-old Zhu Yijun ascended the throne for Mingshenzong. He reigned for 48 years, making him the longest-reigning emperor of the Ming Dynasty.
In the first fifteen years of the reign of Mingshenzong, he made great efforts to govern the country, was diligent in the government, updated the government, and prospered the economy.
In the middle of his reign, he also presided over the famous Wanli Three Great Expeditions, protected his vassals, and consolidated his territory.
Zhang Juzheng only began to be pro-government after his death, and he was tired of the government because of the dispute over the country's capital and other issues, and since then he has not been in the court, the country's operation has almost stopped, and the mining tax has also been assessed as a major disease, and finally went to extinction.
Zhu Yiyi (1568-1614, 47 years old), the fourth son of Ming Muzong, was crowned King Lu at the age of four. After the feudal domain, all of them were returned to the government. It was taken over by the eunuchs and became the imperial store and the imperial village, and since then the village has been occupied by the royal family.
In February of the 11th year of Wanli, King Lu married the daughter of Li Deshi, a student of Shuntianfu, as the princess. In March of the 17th year of Wanli, he left Beijing and went to Weihui, the fiefdom of Henan Province, and asked for land and salt, all of which were agreed.
As a result, he obtained the fief of King Jing Zhu Zaizhen as much as 40,000 hectares and the right to manage local salt. In the forty-second year of Wanli (1614), after learning that the queen mother Xiaoding had died, Zhu Yiyi mourned and wasted his bedtime, and soon died of illness, called King Jian, and was buried in the tomb of King Lu.
