Work History:

He has been engaged in the research of precision measurement physics of gravitational experiments for a long time, and has established experimental devices and research platforms, which have solved the problems of research on the characteristics of precision torsion scales, the development of high-sensitivity and low-noise torsion scale systems, and the monitoring of experimental background fields.

Presided over the experiment and showed that in 1The principle of macroscopic rotation of objects within the relative accuracy of 6 10 -7 still holds.

The space accelerometer developed by the company was successfully carried out in the satellite flight experiment.

Since 1986, the team has been working in the laboratory in the Yujiashan Civil Air Defense Cave of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the team has achieved a G measurement result with a relative accuracy of 105 ppm (ppm: parts per million).

In 2009, the team improved the measurement accuracy of g to 26 ppm, which became one of the seven results with an accuracy better than 50 ppm internationally.

Main Achievements:

In 2009, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In 2002, he was selected as a national excellent doctorate in "Accurate Measurement of the Gravitational Constant G".

In 2000, the team's project of measuring the gravitational constant g by the periodic method won the first prize of the Hubei Provincial Natural Science Award.

In 2018, the team's accurate measurement project of the gravitational constant g was rated as one of the top ten scientific and technological advances in China's higher education institutions.

Social Contribution:

During his tenure as president of Sun Yat-sen University, Luo Jun promoted the university's infrastructure construction and discipline development, especially in the construction of marine discipline groups.

As the initiator of the Tianqin Project, Luo Jun is committed to promoting China's research and international cooperation in the field of space gravitational wave detection.

In the field of education, Luo Jun emphasized the importance of undergraduate talent training, proposed and practiced a series of education and teaching reform measures, and was committed to improving the quality of doctoral training.
