The twenty-four heroes of Lingyan Pavilion were set up by Li Shimin, Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, in order to commend the heroes who fought the world with him. Portraits of these 24 heroes were painted in the Lingyan Pavilion to commemorate their outstanding contributions.
Among them, Sun Wuji, the eldest son of Zhao Guogong, Li Xiaogonghe, and Du Ruhui, the prince of Lai, ranked in the top three. The eldest grandson Wuji has been friends with Li Shimin since he was a child, and his sister is still Li Shimin's queen.
In the Xuanwumen Rebellion, he participated in planning and helping Li Shimin seize the throne. After that, he served as prime minister for more than 30 years, and did his best to the Tang royal family until he died in exile during the Tang Gaozong period for opposing Liwu Zetian as empress.
Li Xiaogong was the cousin of Tang Gaozu Li Yuan, who was in charge of passing through Bashu and conquering more than 30 states. During the Xuanwumen Rebellion, he remained neutral, so he did not win the favor of Tang Taizong, and gradually withdrew from the core of power, and finally died of a violent illness at the age of 50.
Du Ruhui was the main adviser to Li Shimin, who seized power during the Xuanwumen Revolution and created the rule of Zhenguan. He and Fang Xuanling worked together to assist the government, and were known as "Fang Xuanling's decision", and their wisdom and talent were passed on as beautiful talks.
However, Du Ruhui died of a serious illness at the age of 46, and Li Shimin cried so much that he couldn't handle the government for three consecutive days. Although they are deceased, their exploits and contributions are still remembered and respected by future generations.
Their position in the history of the Tang Dynasty is unparalleled, they are the heroes of the Tang Dynasty, and they are our pride.
1.Wei Zheng was once a close confidant of Li Jiancheng, but after the Xuanwumen Incident, Li Shimin appreciated his talent and pardoned him. Wei Zheng dared to speak out, and became an important assistant to Li Shimin to create the rule of Zhenguan.
After Wei Zheng's death, Li Shimin came to the funeral in person, grief-stricken, and abolished the dynasty for five days. 2.Fang Xuanling made outstanding contributions in the Xuanwumen Change, and tied for first place with Du Ruhui, Changsun Wuji, Wei Chi Jingde, and Hou Junji, and was praised by Li Shimin as a meritorious person in planning and fixing the society.
After Fang Xuanling's death, Li Shimin abolished the dynasty for three days. 3.Gao Shilian was the uncle of Empress Li Shimin, participated in the Xuanwumen Change, and after Tang Taizong ascended the throne, he recommended many virtuous ministers for the imperial court by virtue of his knowledge of people.
He died at the age of 72. 4.Wei Chi Jingde was Li Shimin's brave general and important assistant, participated in many battles of Li Shimin, and played a key role in the Xuanwumen Rebellion.
He personally killed Li Yuanji, the king of Qi, and led his troops to coerce Li Yuan to issue an order to make Li Shimin the crown prince. Wei Chi Jingde closed his door in his later years, refining pills for self-consumption. He died at the age of 74 and, along with Qin Qiong, became a revered door god.
Eighteenth, Zhang Gongjin, Zhang Gongjin in the Xuanwumen Change, after the prince Li Jiancheng was killed, his henchmen attacked Xuanwumen, to avenge Li Jiancheng, Zhang Gongjin closed the door alone and refused, and finally defeated the rest of the party, and made great contributions to the stability of the throne of Tang Taizong, after Li Shimin ascended the throne, Zhang Gongjin followed Li Jing to destroy the Eastern Turks, but unfortunately died young at the age of 39.
The twenty-fourth, the brave and fearless Qin Qiong Hu Guogong, he is known for his bravery. At first, he was a general of the Sui Dynasty to protect his son, and later returned to the Tang Dynasty and participated in many battles with Li Shimin.
No matter what battlefield he is on, he is always at the front, and he can often kill enemy generals in the midst of thousands of troops. However, in his later years, he was plagued by illness due to too many war wounds, and eventually died.
Qin Qiong and Yu Chi Jingde were revered as traditional door gods by later generations.
