Today is the seventh day of the first lunar month. Folklore experts said that the seventh day of the first lunar month is the "Renri" in traditional Chinese customs, that is, "people's birthday", which has a history of at least 2,000 years in China.
It is customary for people to eat seven-treasure soup on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year to pray for good fortune and hope for a good omen for the year. In some parts of southern China, there is a custom of "fishing for yusheng" (similar to eating sashimi), which means that the higher the fishing, the higher the rise.
Zhao Zhiheng, an expert on folk customs in Tianjin, said that Lu Sidao's poem "Thinking of Returning to the Day" of the Sui Dynasty wrote: "It has only been seven days since spring, and it has been two years since I left home. The so-called "human day" in the title of the poem is the seventh day of the first lunar month, also known as "Rensheng Festival", "Renqing Festival", "Life Festival" and "Seven Yuan" and "Popularity".
Legend has it that if the weather is good and the people are happy on this day, it means that the people are prosperous, auspicious and safe in the new year. If it happens that a pregnant woman gives birth on this day, it is even more festive.
Dongfang Shuo, a native of the Han Dynasty, said in the Book of Occupation: "On the first day of the first month of the year, the chicken is occupied, the dog is occupied on the second day, the pig is occupied on the third day, the sheep is occupied on the fourth day, the ox is occupied on the fifth day, the horse is occupied on the sixth day, and the man is occupied on the seventh day." According to the Taoist interpretation, "Mr. Heaven and Earth are chickens, dogs, pigs, sheep, oxen, horses, and the first born people." According to this, people call the seventh day of the first month "human day".
In addition, some places also have the custom of eating noodles on this day, which means that noodles are wrapped around the legs of the years and take the meaning of longevity.
