Tech magazine Nextpit has published the article "The Ultimate Guide to the Best Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones in 2024", which introduces and recommends several of the best noise-cancelling headphones on the market.
The article says, are you looking for wireless headphones to listen to in isolation**? Nextpit has tested and compared the best headphones from Sony, Bose, Apple, and Jabra that offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Find out which true wireless earbuds are best for you in this comparison.
Noise reduction is not the only criterion considered for this selection. Factors such as sound quality, intuitiveness of controls, customization options (equalizer, app), water resistance, and connectivity are also considered in this comparison.
The Jabra Elite 10 is undoubtedly my favorite headset of the year. Jabra has managed to address the only flaw that previously hindered its ability to compete with giants like Sony and Bose. The advancement of Active Noise Cancellation technology is clear, and Jabra is now on par with, or even better than, its high-end offerings. In addition, this headset boasts a sleek design, superior sound quality, and a commendable battery life.
Scandinavian designs with a minimalist aesthetic and understated colors continue to impress. The Jabra Elite 10 is one of the most comfortable headphones I've tried. They ensure a perfect fit in the ear and are the lightest in their class.
In terms of functionality, they go to great lengths to provide multi-point, port detection, and mono usage. The audio quality is outstanding.
Their battery life is also impressive, making them a proper high-end product.
The Sony WF-1000XM5 is Sony's latest wireless headphones with active noise cancellation. It features a simple and compact design that ensures a snug fit and is comfortable to use.
All-new drivers and processors deliver well-balanced sound quality, rich bass, and excellent spatialization. Of course, the HD LDAC codec is still indispensable. Each earpiece has three microphones for active noise cancellation.
Battery life is also a highlight, with up to 8 hours with ANC and up to 36 hours with the charging case. Given these characteristics, the Sony WF-1000XM5 is one of the top choices in the market for purchasing premium wireless headphones with ANC capabilities.
AirPods Pro 2 is a top-of-the-line Apple headphones that you can enjoy from Apple Music on your iPhone with your Apple account**. Essentially, if you're already deeply involved in Apple's ecosystem, this review won't shake your resolve. Buying AirPods Pro 2 is the most straightforward and reasonable option.
The noise reduction is really outstanding. It is comparable to, or even surpasses, the Sony WF-1000XM5. While it's a shame that ANC can't be regulated, Apple does outdo itself.
This is the main drawback of AirPods Pro 2. Everything runs automatically, with very few customization options offered. The audio quality is commendable, but only the basic AAC codec can be relied upon. It confuses me that lossless audio is not supported.
Spatial audio, however, is a standout. Pair with your iPhone for a seamless user experience. Pairing, equalization, and noise reduction are all automatic. Everything is tailored to you – it's as simple as plug and play.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds do have what it takes to be champions, and that's no surprise. However, Bose made a couple of mistakes that ultimately cost it the podium – the headset doesn't support multipoint Bluetooth connectivity or a wireless charging case.
These missteps aside, Bose's in-ear headphones perform exceptionally, especially when it comes to active noise cancellation. From Jabra to Apple and Sony, it has left its competitors behind. The Bose QC Ultra Earbuds are IPX4 certified and have a very premium finish, but they are also quite bulky in design.
To its positive effect, this headset supports Qualcomm's adaptive aptx audio codec. Other than that, not much has changed technically compared to the Bose QC Earbuds II. In the review, our colleague Antoine also praised the immersive sound of the 360°, which is especially impressive when used stationarily.
