The Las Vegas Review Magazine reported that all seven members of the Clark County Commission (the governing body of the Las Vegas Strip) were given tickets to the Skybox area, according to campaign finance records.

The event, which runs Nov. 15-18, is worth nearly $11,000 after deducting Nevada's 9% live entertainment tax.

Two of the commissioners, Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Michael Naft, rejected the proposal. Tick Segblom, Ross Miller, Jim Gibson, William McCurdy, and Justin Jones all accepted tickets.

Segblom told The Las Vegas Review that the purpose of the visit to the inaugural event was to "educate" and that learning was important to the community.

The county – its employees and residents – contributed to this incident and suffered many adverse consequences as a result," he said. "If we're going to continue doing this for nine years, we need to learn everything we can. ”

McCurdy agreed with Segblom, adding that it would be "irresponsible" for commissioners not to see how the weekend went.

Miller took a separate practice session to help him make future decisions related to licenses and permitting.
