A few days ago, the consulting agency NE Times released the 2023 domestic DHT hybrid system installed capacity ranking, and unexpectedly, Toyota ranked second on the list.
As shown in the figure above, in 2023, Fodi Power, a subsidiary of BYD, which has the largest installed capacity of DHT (dedicated hybrid transmission) system in China, will have a total of 1202137 vehicles, with a market share of 582%。Toyota ranked second on the list with 505878 units, with a market share of 245%;The installed capacity of the Great Wall is 393606, and the market share is 171%, ranking third on the list.
The fourth to tenth places are Honda, Geely, Trumpchi, Huixiang, Zhixin, Tsingshan and Wuling Liuji. Among them, Huixiang and Zhixin, the two companies, may not be known to the vast majority of consumers in front of the screen.
Huixiang is a joint venture established by Inovance Technology and Li Auto, and its main business is the research and development of powertrains, such as the range extension power solution of the Ideal L9, which was developed together. However, it should be noted that although Huixiang is a joint venture, the relevant news shows that the proportion of ideal self-production is constantly increasing.
Zhixin Technology is a powertrain company under Dongfeng Motor, and the "Lanhai Power" promoted by the VOYAH brand is the company's masterpiece. Taking the Dreamer as an example, its motor has a total power of 310kW, a total torque of 620N·m, and a 000 acceleration time of only 58s, the maximum speed is 200km h. And the biggest feature of this set of power is the "intelligent multi-mode", simply put, it can be both pure electric driving, but also direct engine drive, and more interestingly, it can also drive in extended range mode.
Tsingshan Industry, ranked ninth, is also our old friend, such as Changan Automobile, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Chery, FAW and other car companies are its customers. For example, most of the DCT gearboxes of Changan series models are from Tsingshan Industry. In response to the new energy transition, Tsingshan Industry has also come up with a new plug-in hybrid system, which is currently in use in the Changan Qiyuan series.
In tenth place is Wuling Liuji, which is mainly for the production of power systems for Wuling Starlight, and it is worth mentioning that the current sales of Starlight are still relatively hot, and the sales volume in December directly exceeded 10,000, and from the feedback on the Internet, the monthly sales of this car are likely to exceed 3W. In this way, Wuling Liuji can still move forward in the ranking of DHT system installed capacity in 2024.
Let's talk about the 2023DHT system installed capacity ranking first, let's take a look at the differences between various hybrid systems, I believe that many riders are still stupid and can't distinguish between several hybrids.
1. Diesel-electric hybrid system (HEV).
This is currently the most mature hybrid system, composed of internal combustion engine and electric motor, representative works have Toyota THS and Honda i-MMD, both of which can control fuel consumption at 4-5L (battery with electricity), before the vigorous development of new energy vehicles, they are equipped with Toyota Shuangqing, Honda Rui hybrid models also occupy most of the share in the Chinese market.
Plug-in hybrid systems (PHEVs).
Compared to traditional diesel-electric hybrid systems, plug-in hybrid systems differ in that they have larger batteries, can be charged from an external power source, and can be used as an independent power source to drive the motor. Compared with diesel-electric hybrids, plug-in hybrids support pure electric driving, and with the technical support of car companies, live fuel consumption can be lower, and it is reported that the minimum fuel consumption of the fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system is 2-3L 100km.
However, it should be noted that there are many brands of plug-in hybrid systems on the market that are not mature, and the fuel consumption after battery loss is higher than that of traditional gasoline vehicles.
Extended range powertrain (EREV).
The range-extender powertrain, which can be seen as a "simplified" plug-in hybrid system, has much the same technical principle. It's just that the engine in the extended-range power system does not participate in the drive, but only acts as a generator. Compared with plug-in hybrid systems, the benefit of extended range is that the driving quality is better, which is equivalent to pure electric. However, the fuel consumption of the extended-range model at high speeds is much higher than in urban areas, especially when the battery is in a state of loss.
