Gaza, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- According to the Palestinian News Agency, the Israeli army has been intensively bombing the southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip since the evening of 6 February, killing at least 12 people.

According to the report, the Israeli bombing sites are mainly concentrated in the eastern and western regions of Rafah, and a large number of people have been injured and missing as a result of the bombing.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs issued a statement on the 7th, warning that Rafah is a densely populated area in the Gaza Strip, and if the Israeli army expands the scope of military operations to this place, it will lead to a large number of civilians**, and every effort must be made to prevent this from happening.

According to data released by the Palestinian health department in the Gaza Strip on the 7th, the Israeli army's attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours have killed 123 people and injured 169 people. Since the outbreak of a new round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict on October 7 last year, Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip have caused more than 2770,000 deaths, more than 670,000 people were injured.
