He was the pipe band of the cruiser Zhiyuan during the Sino-Japanese War in 1894, and died heroically in the Battle of the Yellow Sea on September 17, 1894. Zuo Guigui (1837-1894), the name Guanting, Hui nationality, a native of Pingyi County, Linyi, Shandong, a famous patriotic general, a national hero, and one of the "Three British" in the First Sino-Japanese War. Born in a poor peasant family, his parents died when he was young, and his family had no permanent property. In July 1894, Japan launched a war of aggression against Korea and provoked the squadron. On September 15, he died heroically in the battle against Japan at Mudandae in Pyongyang.
Lin Yongsheng was the most heroic among the generals of the Beiyang Naval Division, and when he was martyred, his head was blown open by a Japanese shell. After Lin Yongsheng sacrificed his life for the country, the Manchu dynasty and the naval officers and men all deeply regretted it. The Qing court gave high praise to Deng Shichang for his "courage in battle, regardless of his life" and "striving to be the first to advance and die the fiercest" in the Battle of the Yellow Sea.
These three heroes gave everything they had in the Sino-Japanese War, and some even sacrificed their lives for the country, although the war has passed, their names will always be engraved on the monuments of history, and the Chinese people will always remember them.
