On January 9, Nvidia announced at CES 2024 that Li Auto has selected the NVIDIA Drive Thor ** in-vehicle computer for its next model. The Zeekr will be the first to be equipped with NVIDIA's Drive Thor superchip, which will be launched in 2025.

It is reported that the NVIDIA Drive Thor superchip will bring more advanced AI features to the vehicle, which were initially deployed on NVIDIA Grace CPUs as well as GPUs with Hopper and Ada Lovelace architectures. The Drive Thor superchip is expected to provide up to 2000 TFLOP of high-performance computing power, about 8 times the performance of the current mainstream NVIDIA Orin chip, which can realize intelligent driving with both functional safety and information security, and is planned to be put into production in 2025.

As the next generation of centralized automotive computers, the Drive Thor superchip integrates a wide range of intelligent functions into a single AI computing platform to provide autonomous driving, automated parking, driver and passenger monitoring, and an AI cockpit.

Nvidia revealed that the next-generation new car launched by Zeekr in 2025 will be equipped with the Drive Thor's super chip for the first time.

Nvidia also announced partnerships with automakers GWM, Zeekr and Xiaomi, which have adopted the NVIDIA Drive Orin platform to power their intelligent self-driving systems.

Li Auto currently uses two Drive Orin processors to power AD Max, the driver assistance system in its L-Series models. New AD Max 3The 0 upgrade transitions the system to an end-to-end algorithm architecture dominated by AI large models.

Great Wall Motor will also build a self-developed high-end intelligent driving system, Coffee Pilot, based on the Drive Orin centralized computing platform. Coffee Pilot can support parking, high-speed, and urban scenarios, and realize full-scene intelligent navigation and assisted driving functions without the need for high-precision maps.

Great Wall Motor has partnered with NVIDIA to develop the intelligent driving system, and will launch the first model equipped with the system in the first half of this year. Intelligent driving functions such as NOA urban navigation assisted driving and cross-layer memory parking will be the first to be launched on the Great Wall Wei brand model.

ZEEKR's new full-stack self-developed autonomous driving system uses the NVIDIA Drive Orin platform, and the ZEEKR 007 uses dual Drive Orin system-on-chips to provide intelligent parking and automated operations on highways and urban roads.

Xiaomi Auto has announced the launch of its first electric vehicle, the SU7, which is based on a dual-Drive Orin configuration that enables highway assisted driving functions.

"The transportation industry is adopting centralized computing to achieve a high degree of automation and autonomous driving. The AI car computer of choice for today's smart cars is NVIDIA Drive Orin, and automakers are increasingly looking to their successor, NVIDIA Drive Thor, for the advanced features and AI performance to shape future vehicle roadmaps. ”
