Know our ears.
How much do you know about the structure of the ear? The ear is the hearing organ of the human body, which is composed of three parts: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. Outer ear: The outer ear is made up of the pinna and the external auditory canal. The pinna mainly plays the role of collecting sounds. The external auditory canal connects the pinna to the middle ear. Middle ear: Located between the outer and inner ear, it consists of four parts: the tympanic chamber, the eustachian tube, the tympanic sinus and the mastoid process. The middle ear mainly plays the role of conducting and amplifying sound. Inner ear: The structure is very complex, consisting of three parts: vestibule, semicircular canal, and cochlea. The first two parts are responsible for balancing the senses, while the latter is related to hearing.
What is the role of the ear?
Several basic functions of the ear are hearing, balance, aesthetics, which are as follows:
1. Auditory: The ear is an important sensory organ, on both sides of the skull, the most important and basic physiological function of the ear is hearing, the auricle has the function of collecting sound waves, after collecting sound waves, the sound is transmitted to the inner ear through the middle ear, and nerve impulses are generated to produce hearing;
2. Maintain balance: The ear is an important balance organ, and there are semicircular canals and vestibules in the ear, which are important structures that produce balance sensation and play an important role in maintaining balance function;
3. Keep it beautiful: The ears are distributed on both sides of the skull and are an important organ for maintaining the face. Bilaterally symmetrical ears can maintain a normal appearance, and some patients have auricular deformity due to various reasons, which is an important factor in causing facial defects.
How to protect our ears?
1. Control the duration of the hit. Under normal circumstances, the time to hit ** should not exceed 3 minutes.
2. Stay away from noise. Prolonged exposure to noise can lead to damage or loss of external and internal hair cells in the cochlea, resulting in a permanent shift in the auditory threshold. Once a permanent shift in the hearing threshold occurs, the hearing cannot be restored.
3. Avoid water in the ears. When washing your hair and bathing daily, you should pay attention to the fact that if water enters the ear canal, you can use a dry cotton swab to absorb the water to avoid ear infection and otitis externa. Especially for those who like to swim, prepare swimming earplugs before swimming.
4. Blow your nose correctly. When blowing the nose, you should pay attention to the fingers can only press one side of the nose, and then blow out the other side of the nose, do not pinch both sides of the nose at the same time and exhale forcefully, because the back of the nasal cavity communicates with the middle ear cavity through the eustachian tube, and improper nose blowing will drive nasal secretions into the middle ear cavity, thus causing otitis media.
5. Scientific diet, appropriate supplementation of trace elements. Eat a healthy diet, eat more foods rich in vitamins, zinc, iron, calcium, and appropriate vitamin supplementation, which is conducive to dilating blood vessels, improving blood flow in the inner ear**, and preventing hearing loss.
6. If your ears are uncomfortable, seek medical attention in time. When you have symptoms such as itching, pain, tinnitus, ear tightness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, and hearing loss, you should see a doctor immediately.
