The ancient legend says that once a cultivator attains the Tao, the whole family can ascend to the immortal realm together, and it is also used to describe a person who is an official, and the whole family is rich and noble. The idiom comes from the "Taiping Guangji" volume 14 quoted "The Biography of the Twelve True Monarchs: Xu Zhenjun", ".On August 1 of the second year of Emperor Taikang of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zhenjun raised a family of 42 people in Xishan, Hongzhou, and went up from the house
Xu Zhenjun, formerly known as Xu Xun, the word Jingzhi, was a native of Nanchang in Yuzhang of the Jin Dynasty. According to the Taoist records, Xu Xun took hunting as a profession when he was young, and went into the mountains to shoot deer one day, but he didn't expect to shoot a pregnant doe, and the doe died after desperately giving birth to a fawn. Xu Xun witnessed the whole process and realized that he returned with a crossbow, cultivated in Xishan, and then worshiped Wu Meng, the king of Dadong, as his teacher, and was awarded the "Three Qing Laws".
After learning something, Xu Xun and Guo Pu visited famous mountain resorts together, and then lived in seclusion in Xiaoyao Mountain in the western suburbs of Nanchang.
Xu Xun has been promoted as filial piety many times, but he is bent on seeking the Tao and has been politely rejected many times. It was not until the first year of Taikang (280) that Xu Xun, who was already forty-two years old, was really a little difficult to refrain from being invited by the imperial court many times, so he was appointed as the commander of Jingyang County, Sichuan.
Xu Xun was an official in Jingyang for ten years, during which he went to be greedy, commuted punishments, advocated benevolence and filial piety, and was deeply loved by the local people, and even the people of Linxian County also came to join him, and was affectionately called "Xu Jingyang".
In the first year of Yuankang (291), the "Rebellion of the Eight Kings" broke out in the Western Jin Dynasty, and Xu Xun abandoned the official and returned to the east. At the time of departure, the local 10,000 people empty alleys, have come to see each other, more people for him to build a shrine, paint a statue of the gods, sacrifice all the year round, and even some people follow him thousands of miles, follow him to settle in Xishan, and all change their surnames to Xu, known as "Xu's family camp".
Later, Xu Xun and Wu Zhenjun Wu Meng traveled to Jiangzuo together, coinciding with the "Wang Dun Rebellion" in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xu Xun went to meet Wang Dun, wanting to stop his rebellion and maintain the Jin Dynasty royal family.
One day, Xu Xun and Guo Pu begged to see Wang Dun together, and Wang Dun set up a banquet to entertain the two. During the banquet, Wang Dun suddenly said to the two, "Gu had a dream last night, and I want to ask Mr. to give me a round, how about it?" ”
Xu Xun asked, "Please describe it specifically." ”
Wang Dun said, "Lonely dream is holding a piece of wood and piercing the sky. It can be seen that it should be logical for me to replace the Jin Dynasty as emperor. ”
Xu Xun said, "In my opinion, this dream is not auspicious. ”
Wang Dun said angrily, "How do you say it? ”
Xu Xun gestured with his hand and said, "Breaking the sky with wood is a word 'not', in my opinion, you can't act rashly, and the Jin Dynasty is not exhausted." ”
Wang Dun was annoyed when he heard this, and asked Guo Pu to calculate for himself, and after Guo Pu calculated a hexagram, he said to Wang Dun, "You can't do what you want to be the emperor."
Wang Dun asked Guo Pu to calculate his lifespan, and Guo Pu said, "If you start an army and make a rebellion, a catastrophe will soon come, and if you still stay in Wuchang, you will live a long life."
Wang Dun was furious and asked, "Then you might as well calculate, how is your own lifespan?" ”
When Guo Pu saw Wang Dun furious, he replied, "My death date is today." ”
Wang Dun was already furious, so he ordered someone to pull Guo Pu out and kill him.
Xu Xun saw that Guo Pu was killed, and knew that it was pointless to continue persuasion, so he threw the wine glass in his hand on the beam of the room, only to see the wine glass circling around the beam of the house, just when Wang Dun raised his head, Xu Xun took the opportunity to leave incognito.
In addition, other bizarre events about Xu Xun are described in the Taiping Guangji, such as flying in a boat and destroying the river mussel essence, which are too bizarre to be elaborated.
In the fourth year of Daxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (321 years), Xu Xun lived in seclusion in the southern suburbs of Nanchang at the site of Meixian Temple, founded the Taoist Institute, named Tai Chi Temple, and said that "Jingming True Realm", and founded the Jingming Taoist School, so he himself was respected as the patriarch of the Jingming Taoist School.
Legend has it that Xu Xun lived one hundred and thirty-six years old, on the first day of August in the second year of Ningkang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (374), in the west mountain of Hongzhou, "the family of forty-two people, pulled out the house and went up", only one stone letter, one medicine mortar, one car hub, and the royal brocade tent of the true monarch, fell from the clouds to the old house, so it was respected by the world as "Xu Xian".
The news reached the imperial court, in order to commend his merits, the imperial court ordered Jingyang County to be renamed Deyang County, and the descendants built Xu Xian Temple in the West Mountain where he lived, and built Jingyang Temple in Nanchang Tiezhu Palace, and was commended by the previous dynasties with plaques.
