The Minister of Health of Mongolia Chinzorig, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko and the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation **Alexey Tsydenov held a tripartite meeting on cooperation in the field of health and medicine in the city of Ulan-Ude, the capital of the Republic of Buryatia.

The meeting focused on the following topics:

1.Training of medical specialists.

2.Maternal and child health and **.

3.Medicines and medical devices**.

4.Joint scientific research.

5.Medical tourism.

The successful implementation of the joint training program for Mongolian-Russian medical specialists was highlighted. Currently, Mongolian doctors and hospital staff are being trained in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, in addition to more than 30 Mongolian students studying at the Ulan-Ude Medical College. The Russian side said that it will provide Mongolian university graduates with the opportunity to develop professionally in Russian medical institutions.

Mikhail Murashko said that the Russian Federation has carried out a lot of oncology and medical research work in the Republic of Buryatia and has set up a cancer diagnosis and treatment center to provide medical services to the Mongolian people. He also said that Mongolia had achieved remarkable results in reducing infant mortality and that the Russian Federation was ready to share its experience and technology to further help Mongolia improve its results.

Chinzorig said that Mongolia and the Russian Federation agreed to further expand cooperation in the field of health, in particular, by introducing various types of high-tech medical equipment and methods. He also said that the meeting was fruitful and the two sides will continue to deepen cooperation within the framework of the agreement signed in 1995.
