Recently, Microsoft's new PC Manager application for Windows 11 has been released on the Microsoft Store, and I believe that many users have started to try this program, one of the features is Deep Clean, which was originally intended to speed up the computer, but it was found to slow down the user's computer.
*Neowin recently reported that Microsoft PC Manager's Deep Clean function, which is suspected of slowing down the computer, is mainly to check the user's computer, find and clear files that are no longer needed, so as to free up space, in order to speed up the computer. However, the result is counterproductive, because the Deep Clean feature erases all files from the computer's Prefetc** folder, and the computer uses this folder to store information about the user's running applications so that it can be faster the next time it is launched.
While the above files are not required, they are very useful for keeping your computer running quickly. When Microsoft PC Manager empties all files in the Prefetc folder, the benefits of fast running disappear. Although it saves storage space, it actually slows down the overall speed of your computer. If you already have Microsoft PC Manager installed, you should think twice before using the Deep Clean feature to avoid slowing down your computer, and you should even choose other options.
