"There are several local people trying to storm the camp, asking for support, asking for support! "In mid-January, in response to the increasingly complex security situation in overseas mission areas, the 14th batch of Chinese peacekeepers to South Sudan (Wau) organized engineering and medical detachments to carry out a coordinated emergency drill.

When the peacekeeper engineer detachment is carrying out the task of repairing the supply line, the officers and men of the peacekeeping engineer detachment should build a temporary shelter camp in the field environment, and they will have to eat and live in the field for a long time. In this exercise, according to various special situations that may occur in the mission area, they guided and adjusted the situation of the temporary camp being attacked and harassed by local people, and tested the emergency response capability of officers and men.

After discovering that the people were "attacking", the sentries on duty immediately called for support in a hidden place, and the fast countershift quickly dispatched from the rest area, received anti-riot equipment in accordance with the combat readiness plan, and built a cordon and defense line on the front line of the camp gate. Subsequently, the peacekeepers used loudspeakers to identify themselves and repeatedly warned against "attacking and harassing the people".

After discovering that the shouts were ineffective, the peacekeepers carried out a display of our strength by sending bullets to the commander on the spot in accordance with the UN's rules of engagement. After being deterred, the "harassing people" gave up their attacks and fled the makeshift camps.

During the confrontation, two officers and soldiers were wounded and immediately disposed of. After "driving away the "attacking and harassing people," the command and dispatch group set up a special situation in which our officers and men were attacked and wounded. The guard force accompanying the unit immediately went forward to quickly identify the injuries of the "wounded" officers and men, and after confirming that the "wounded" were brain fractures and leg fractures, they immediately carried out emergency treatment, and at the same time called for support from the rear medical detachment.

After receiving a notice that a person was "wounded" at the front, the peacekeeping medical detachment inspected the relevant medical facilities while inquiring about the situation of the "wounded", gathered personnel and immediately dispatched ambulances to the front line to assist the military doctors of the construction detachment to bandage and fix the "wounded" and evacuate the "wounded". During the evacuation process, the medical doctor of the medical detachment further checked the "injuries" of the officers and men, carried out fluid replenishment and anti-shock**, and monitored the vital signs of the "wounded" at any time.

According to the United Nations mandated mission plan, it will not be long before we will be able to separate multiple engineering forces and carry out supply line repair tasks in different areas. The leaders of the 14th batch of peacekeeping troops to South Sudan (Wau) said that due to the complex local security situation, officers and soldiers have been working in the field for a long time and may encounter various emergencies.
