With the start of the Steam Next Fest, developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Gearbox Publishing have announced that they will launch a limited-time trial of the "War Games" demo of Homeland 3's meat pigeon mode, starting at 2 a.m. Beijing time on February 6 and ending at 2 a.m. Beijing time on February 13, both on Steam and the Epic Games Store**. A new and groundbreaking mode for Homestead 3, Wargame supports up to three co-op players, and it blends the classic RTS mechanics of the Homestead series with meat pigeon elements. Players can command their fleet to take on a series of random combat challenges, earning powerful artifacts to increase the power, speed, and equipment of their fleet. Under the random element, the player has to think about how to maximize the benefits of the abilities obtained by the fleet. After an adventure, players can also unlock more artifacts and initial fleet types by gaining experience points to keep the challenges of the war game fresh. The mode has also been expanded with subsequent updates and DLC content.
Homeland 3 is the first installment in the series in 11 years, and the game is developed using Unreal Engine. The plot of the game is inherited from "Homeland 2", and the hyperspace gate network communicates with the galaxy, and the galaxy is prosperous and rich. However, with the catastrophic failure of the hyperspace gates, Karan, that legend once again becomes the key to the mystery of the threat facing the galaxy. The game is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2024.
