Short track speed skating is the traditional strength of the Chinese team. In this year's Winter Youth Olympic Games, the Chinese short track speed skating team sent four team members Li Jinqi, Yang Jingru, Zhang Baihao and Zhang Xinzhe to participate in the competition, and everyone had a gold medal. In the women's 1500m final, teenagers Yang Jingru and Li Jinkai successfully used the "rabbit tactic" to win the first gold medal of the Chinese sports delegation in this event. Subsequently, Li Jinqi and Yang Jingru won the women's 1000m championship and runner-up, helping the team win the mixed team relay gold medal.
The 16-year-old Zhang Xinzhe showed strong strength in the shorter middle distance events, winning gold in the men's 1000m and silver medals in the 500m and 1500m. Another male athlete, Zhang Baihao, may have been unlucky, missing out on individual medals and finally achieving a gold medal in the mixed team relay.
Speed skating is also a thrilling contest, with hosts South Korea and speed skating powerhouse Netherlands both strong contenders for gold. In the mixed relay final, the Chinese team was paired by Pan Baoshuo and Liu Yunqi, who had previously won silver medals in the men's 1500m and women's 500m races, and this time finally "changed the color of the medal". The duo held the lead for the first few laps, and were overtaken by South Korea and the Netherlands in the middle, but they made a strong overtake on the final lap to 004 seconds to win the gold medal. In the end, the Chinese speed skating team won 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
Ice events are frequent, and snow events are catching up. In the women's freestyle skiing halfpipe final, Liu Yishan and Chen Zihan won the championship and second place respectively, which was also the first gold medal for the Chinese delegation in the snow event of this Winter Youth Olympic Games. 16-year-old Liu Yishan only started practicing freestyle skiing three years ago, and after a series of competitions, his skills have improved rapidly; The 14-year-old has practiced martial arts and is talented in freestyle skiing. "In the future, I will continue to impact difficult movements, hoping to win glory for the country in a bigger arena. When it comes to the future, Liu Yishan is full of confidence.
The Chinese team has achieved many "firsts" at this Winter Youth Olympic Games - 16-year-old Spoon Xiangyu won the first Winter Youth Olympic Games bobsleigh medal for the Chinese team, the Chinese women's ice hockey team won the first Winter Youth Olympic Games ice hockey medal, and the first Chinese athlete appeared in the Alpine skiing speed event at ......the Winter Youth Olympic GamesDriven by the Beijing Winter Olympics, China's ice and snow sports have achieved leapfrog development, effectively changed the previous situation of "strong ice and weak snow", and the sustainable development capacity of various sports has been continuously enhanced.
