Against the backdrop of today's deepening and developing military reform, the reform of the military medical system has attracted widespread attention. In particular, the large-scale downsizing and adjustment of those non-combat units, such as the transfer of many military hospitals to the leading enterprise - Rongtong Group, and transferred to the local government. This will not only help optimize the allocation of resources, but also reduce the number of non-front-line combat personnel, thereby improving the army's combat effectiveness and health service level.
In the course of this major rectification, we have noticed that the total number of general hospitals in the whole army has been greatly reduced, and now there are only eight general hospitals left. At the same time, the backbone of the General Hospital, which has shown great strength, has also undergone significant changes. For example, the former General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army's ** Reserve Department has undergone several rounds of reform and has become the current General Hospital of the Strategic Support Force.
Looking back on the course of military reform, since 2015, China's military modernization has made achievements that have attracted worldwide attention. Taking the Army's leadership and Joint Logistics Support Force, which were formally established on December 31, 2015, as an example, they mark a new journey for the squadron to modernize. In addition, the Second Artillery Corps was renamed the Rocket Force, a move that greatly enhanced our deterrent capability. Similarly, in January 2016, the abolition of the four headquarters and the seven military regions became an important milestone in the transformation of China's affairs. These measures have played an indelible role in the construction and maintenance of our army.
It is worth mentioning that in the past few years, the adjustment of general hospitals has also been gradually promoted. In November 2018, according to the new regulations, all general hospitals in the region were integrated into 8, namely the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, the General Hospital of the Five Major Theaters, the General Hospital of the Xinjiang Military Region, and the General Hospital of the ** Military Region. Among them, the PLA General Hospital is one of the largest general hospitals in the country, in addition to undertaking universal medical tasks, it also said that it manages the other seven general hospitals, and its main responsibility is to organize personnel training, scientific research exchanges and other activities. The general hospitals of the five major theaters belong to the joint logistics support force and are responsible for specific management work. The General Hospital of the Xinjiang Military Region and the General Hospital of the ** Military Region are under the jurisdiction of the Xinjiang Military Region and the ** Military Region under the jurisdiction of the Army Headquarters.
We have seen that with the deepening of the transformation of the army, the administrative structure of the General Hospital is also closely following the pulse of the times and making necessary adjustments in a timely manner. For example, the General Hospital of the General Staff has been reincorporated into the jurisdiction of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and has become its eighth medical center, and its rank has been changed from the original regular military rank to the deputy military rank. This adjustment helps to straighten out the relationship and avoids internal overlap and waste. The adjustment of the military medical system requires the all-round and whole-process transformation and upgrading of the general hospital, involving many fields such as staffing, facility construction, technology introduction, and teaching practice. However, despite the many challenges, the whole army is still going all out to promote the process of transformation and upgrading.
Military reform is a journey in full swing, and the General Hospital, as the cornerstone of military medical care, naturally has to coordinate with close action. We look forward to more and more high-quality talents joining the competition to share the interests of the country and build a peaceful life. Only in this way can we truly realize the well-being of the masses of the people and the grand vision of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. For each of us, it is a heavy responsibility and obligation to pay attention to military reform, care about national defense, and protect a beautiful homeland.
