Before and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, ** and *** were the top two figures in the party, and when the leaders took a group photo, they generally sat in the middle position.
But look at the following **, but *** is sitting on one side, and there are four people sitting in the middle, who are they?
This ** was taken in late September 1949, during the first plenary session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, ** sat on the far right, ** sat on the far left, and gave up the middle position to four respected people.
These four people, namely Lin Boqu, Dong Biwu, Wu Yuzhang, Xu Teli, plus another absent Xie Jueya, are the famous "Yan'an Five Elders" in the history of our party.
They are called the "Five Elders of Yan'an", firstly because they are older, and the youngest Lin Boqu is also 7 years older than *** and 12 years older than ***, and secondly, because they are highly respected and have deep revolutionary qualifications.
First of all, Lin Boqu, the second person on the left, was born on March 20, 1886, and is the same age as Mr. Zhu (December 1, 1886), but more than 8 months older than Mr. Zhu.
Lin Boqu followed Sun Yat-sen to join the League in his early years, and also served as a senator of the Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's office, joined the Communist Party of China in 1921, became a veteran of our party, and later participated in the Nanchang Uprising.
During the period of the Chinese Soviet Republic, Lin Boqu served as Minister of National Economy, Minister of Finance, Minister of General Supply, etc., and made indelible contributions to the financial and economic aspects, which greatly ensured the smooth operation of the Soviet Republic.
During the all-out War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Lin Boqu was appointed chairman of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo Border Region, and was affectionately called "Parent Officer".
When the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949, Lin Boqu was elected secretary general of the People's Committee and presided over the founding ceremony on the tower of Tiananmen Square.
On May 29, 1960, Lin Boqu unfortunately died of illness at the age of 74.
Let's look at the third Dong Biwu on the left, who was also born in March 1886, only 15 days older than Lin Boqu.
Dong Biwu has one of the most well-known experiences, that is, he participated in the first congress of the Communist Party of China, is the founder of the Communist Party of China, among the 13 deputies, only he stood on the Tiananmen Tower of the founding ceremony of the founding ceremony.
In addition, Dong Biwu also has an important experience, that is, as a representative of the Communist Party of China, he participated in the founding meeting of the United Nations, and won many rights and interests for China in the United Nations.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Dong Biwu was elected vice premier and became an important assistant to the premier.
Soon after the founding of the People's Republic of China, ** and *** went to the Soviet Union to negotiate, and the post of chairman was changed from *** to the post of prime minister by Dong Biwu**.
**When I came back, I found that the work of the Government Council had not been delayed at all, and some places were even better than when he was there!
On April 2, 1975, Dong Biwu died at the age of 89.
When *** learned the news, he didn't eat for a day, and asked the staff to circulate "He Bridegroom, Send Hu Bangheng to Xinzhou" written by Zhang Yuangan in the Southern Song Dynasty, and also changed the last two sentences to "Jun and go, Hugh review" to commemorate Dong Biwu.
Fourth on the left is Wu Yuzhang, born in 1878, 8 years older than Lin Boqu and Dong Biwu.
Wu Yuzhang joined the League in his early years, and also worked as a secretary for Sun Yat-sen, and his status in the Kuomintang was very high, but he later joined the Communist Party.
Moreover, Wu Yuzhang is also the introducer of *** to join the party, and *** and others went to France for work-study that year, which was also approved by Wu Yuzhang.
Wu Yuzhang's main contribution was in education, serving as the dean of Lu Xun Academy of Arts, the president of Yan'an University, and in 1948 he also founded North China University, which is now the Chinese People's University, and Wu Yuzhang served as president for 18 years until his death.
**There is a famous saying:"It is not difficult for a person to do something good, but it is difficult to do good deeds and not do bad deeds in a lifetime. ”Many people think that this sentence is about Lei Feng, but in fact, when Wu Yuzhang was 60 years old, he praised him.
On December 12, 1966, Wu Yuzhang died at the age of 88.
The fifth on the left is Xu Teli, born in 1877, and the oldest of the "Five Elders of Yan'an".
Xu Teli has one of the most famous identities, that is, the best teacher, but in fact, he is not just a "teacher", and his revolutionary qualifications are also very deep.
Xu Teli joined the Communist Party of China in May 1927 and participated in the Nanchang Uprising, and later participated in the Long March with the Red Army.
During the all-out War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Xu Teli also served as the director of the Eighth Route Army's office in Hunan and made indelible contributions to the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in the War of Resistance.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xu Teli served as the deputy director of the Propaganda Department and was elected as a member of the first committee.
On November 28, 1968, Xu Teli passed away at the age of 91.
This is the situation of the four old people in **, all of whom are senior, old, and highly respected figures in our party, so ** and *** let them sit in the middle, reflecting the traditional virtue of "respecting the old and respecting the virtuous" of the two leaders.
