In 1931, Japan launched the September 18 Incident and invaded Northeast China, and since then, the Japanese invaders have always coveted China's land and resources. In July 1937, Japan launched the July 7 Incident and began a full-scale invasion of China. However, in the face of this challenge, the Chinese nation has never lacked heroes and heroes. Many aspiring young people responded to the call to resist Japan and went to Yan'an, the holy land of revolution, to devote themselves to the anti-Japanese activities led by the Communist Party of China.
Today, we are going to tell the story of a female hero, although she is a woman, she has the courage and will no less than that of a man, joined the Eighth Route Army early, and witnessed the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan under the guidance of the Communist Party of China. She is Dong Bian. Dong Bian was born in Xinzhou, Shanxi Province in 1916 from an ordinary family. At a young age, she was educated in her hometown and showed extraordinary intelligence and excellent academic performance. As he grew older, Dong Bian was admitted to Taiyuan Girls' High School.
During her time at the school, she actively participated in calling on the people to stop the civil war and unite against foreign enemies. In July 1937, when the July 7 Incident broke out and Japan invaded China in an all-out way, Dong Bian, who was only 21 years old, joined the Eighth Route Army Cadet Corps and began to engage in anti-Japanese activities under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Soon after, she joined the vanguard of the liberation of the Chinese nation and carried out propaganda work on the anti-Japanese front line in Shanxi.
In 1938, Dong Bian went to Yan'an, the holy land of the revolution, and successively studied at Shaanbei Public School, and joined the Political Research Office as a researcher. At the same time, she became acquainted with Tian Jiaying, and the two often talked heartily. After a period of love, Tian Jiaying took the initiative to propose to Dong Bian, which surprised Dong Bian, because in her eyes, Tian Jiaying is an introvert and is rarely likely to ask for marriage.
Dong Bian has always regarded Tian Jiaying as a colleague, but as time passed, she found that her relationship with Tian Jiaying was extraordinary. Tian Jiaying's proposal to Dong Bian surprised Dong Bian, and she recalled this experience with emotion: "I really didn't expect Tian Jiaying to propose marriage so actively. The two reported to the Order, and then quietly married at the end of 1942 without any weddings.
Subsequently, Dong Bian was transferred to the Central Propaganda Department, and during the Liberation War, he was sent to the Women's Committee to engage in the women's liberation movement. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, she successively served as the head of the All-China Women's Federation.
The third and fourth secretaries have made great contributions to the cause of women in New China. However, in the 60s of the last century, due to the relationship of her husband Tian Jiaying, Dong Bian was mistreated and stopped working. It was not until the 80s of the last century, after Tian Jiaying was rehabilitated, that Dong Bian's life gradually improved.
It is worth mentioning that Tian Jiaying loved literature and collected many inkblots of Qing Dynasty cultural celebrities, which have been kept by his widow Dong Bian since his death. At the end of the eighties of the last century, Dong Bian was hospitalized for a long time and his condition was not good. After being discharged from the hospital, she decided to dispose of her husband's collection, so in the early 90s of the last century, she donated all these treasures to the National Museum of China, so that they have a better place to go. In 1998, Dong Bian died of illness at the age of 82.
