Rail socket is a new type of socket popular in recent years, its function is similar to the power strip, but there is no lengthy power cord, the socket can be used in the track to move the position, but also to achieve flexible increase or decrease of the socket mouth, and the appearance is beautiful, easy to install, so it is more and more favored and chosen by consumers.
In order to help consumers scientifically purchase rail sockets, the Guangzhou Municipal Consumer Council carried out comparative tests on the rail socket products sold online, and commissioned the Guangzhou Customs Technology Center, a professional third-party quality and technical organization, to conduct the test, focusing on the three dimensions of safety items, reliability structure, and functional convenience, and comprehensively compared and evaluated the quality and performance of a variety of rail sockets of different brands.
The samples of this comparative test were randomly purchased from the online e-commerce platform by the Guangzhou Municipal Consumer Council, including 7 batches of Tmall and 5 batches of JD.com, a total of 12 models, and the unit price of the samples ranged from more than 200 yuan to more than 500 yuan. A total of 17 indicators were tested from three aspects: safety indicators, reliability structure and functional convenience, including anti-electric shock protection, moisture resistance, insulation resistance and electrical strength, temperature rise, heat resistance, anti-detachment mechanism, protection function, shell protection performance, installation convenience, functional diversity, etc., and the products were scored, ranked and comprehensively evaluated.
The results showed that the overall performance of the 12 track socket samples evaluated was good, and 3 of them performed well and received five stars; 5 models received four stars for good performance; 2 models with medium performance and two stars; 1 model generally received one star for its performance; 1 model has a temperature rise non-conformity, and will not be rated as a star.
Safety indicators are the most important indicators of product quality. In this comparative test, 12 samples of rail sockets were compared from 7 safety items that consumers are more concerned about. The test results showed that only one sample was found to be non-conformant in the "temperature rise" item, and the rest of the results were consistent.
The reliability structure index is an important index to evaluate the quality of the product. The comparative test comprehensively scored 12 rail socket samples according to the custom scoring criteria from five dimensions: contact physical connection mode, anti-disconnection mechanism, polarity fool-proof, protection function, and shell protection performance. The test results showed that none of the 12 samples were equipped with protection functions. The protection function refers to the main switch protection or leakage protection function of the sample, and the 12 samples need to install a protection switch or rely on the leakage protection switch of the power distribution system to provide protection because they are not equipped with a protection function.
In addition to safety and reliability, consumers also consider the functional convenience of rail sockets. The comparative test comprehensively scored the functional convenience of 12 rail socket samples according to the custom scoring criteria from five dimensions: installation convenience, functional diversity, sliding smoothness, use stability, and cleaning convenience. The test results showed that all 12 models only had socket functions, but did not provide many other functions such as USB interfaces.

1) Choose products with CCC certification (hereinafter referred to as 3C certification) mark.
Usually the 3C certification mark of the socket will be marked on the back of the product, and you can check it carefully when purchasing. If it is purchased on an online e-commerce platform, the product details page will mark the certification of the product, and you can also consult customer service to make it clear that you have 3C certification before purchasing.
2) Use the four-step selection method of "weighing weight, listening to sound, testing feel, and looking at hardness" to purchase.
Weight: There are many copper wires used inside the socket that meet the national standards, and the plastic shell is tight, so the weight will be heavier.
Listen to the sound: You can repeatedly press the socket switch, a good socket opens and closes freely and the sound is crisp, and a bad socket sound is stuck.
Test the feel: A good socket not only has a moderate and flexible plugging and unplugging feel of each hole, but also has the same plugging and unplugging feel.
Look at the hardness: the power cord of a good socket feels moderately soft and hard, and the connection with the socket is solid and reliable, and it is not easy to pull off.
3) Choose products with protective doors.
Whether it's a fixed socket on the wall or a socket on a rail, the jack should have a protective door. The protective door mainly prevents small metal objects such as keys, metal sheets, sweater needles and other small metal objects from poking the jack, which can effectively prevent users, especially children, from being electrocuted by misoperation.
