Japan has always been a treacherous and aggressive island country, and since ancient times, it has never given up its coveting of China, a country rich in natural products and a large population. At the end of World War II, even though Japan's domestic situation was grim, it still did not give up its ambition to invade China, and even recruited those children who had not yet grown up to join the Chinese battlefield, becoming cannon fodder for the invasion of China and confronting the anti-Japanese army and civilians.
In order to avenge his loved ones, a soldier of the Eighth Route Army of the Luzhong Military Region stabbed a Japanese recruit who was kneeling on the ground and begging for mercy in a battle on September 4, 1944.
Why are these children being conscripted to die on the battlefields of China? Because Japan was already crazy at that time, it wanted to use the conquest of China as a springboard to join forces with Hitler to dominate the world in the East and the West.
In short, Japan's behavior has proven that it is a treacherous and aggressive country, and we must remain vigilant against this.
During the full-scale war of aggression against China, the Japanese army organized new recruits to conduct shooting training. Many of these student soldiers were drafted into battle. Japan's repeated land losses made Hideki Tojo even more arrogant, trying to open up the Pacific theater, expel the British and American forces in Southeast Asia, and then move westward to join the German army in the Indian Ocean and even the Atlantic.
In the face of repeated defeats on the frontal battlefield, Chiang Kai-shek's anti-Japanese strategy was to hold on to each other strategically and wait for changes, hoping to draw the United States into war and compete with Japan. Once the United States and Japan go to war, Japan's forces will be tense and scattered, and its military resources will be exhausted, and this situation will undoubtedly be defeated for Japan.
On December 7, 1941, Japan's ambitious attack on Pearl Harbor finally made Chiang Kai-shek's strategy of holding on to change come true. Japan's military strength was becoming increasingly tight and scarce, and the third-front operation was overstretched, so it had to recruit a large number of underage children from the mainland to fill up the numbers indiscriminately and use them as cannon fodder on the battlefield.
Among the young soldiers in the Japanese army, those students who were hastily drafted, even if they were seduced by "bushido", could not really play a role. Faced with the fierce fighting scene of piercing the chest and bleeding out, these little devils were full of fear in their hearts.
Some little devils were so frightened that they gave up resistance and knelt on the ground begging for mercy. In 1944, such a scene appeared in a battle launched by the Luzhong Military Region. At that time, the Japanese army was defeated by the frog jumping tactics of the US army in the Pacific theater, and had to draw troops from the Chinese battlefield to the south for reinforcements.
In the Battle of Yuxianggui, which was frontally defended by Chiang's army, the Japanese army was like a bamboo, and quickly opened a passage to the south to reinforce the Pacific theater. The defeat of Chiang's army also made the arrogance of the Japanese army on the Chinese battlefield even more arrogant.
Even though their end is near, they are still dying and thriving, launching a frantic sweep of our anti-Japanese base areas. At the beginning of September 1944, the 59th Division of the Japanese Army and the 1st Division of the 3rd Front Army of the Puppet Army swept the coastal area of Shandong Province in China, trying to retreat to Boshan and Linqu through Yishui City.
After reconnaissance by our army, this sweeping force totaled more than 1,200 people, including 450 people from the Kusanoqing Brigade of the 59th Division of the Japanese Army, more than 500 people from Hao Quanren of the 179th Regiment of the puppet army, and more than 250 puppet policemen.
Upon learning of this news, Wang Jian'an, commander of the Luzhong Military Region, ordered Sun Jixian, commander of the 3rd Army Division, and Huo Shilian, political commissar of the 3rd Army, to immediately end the rest and recuperation of the troops, set up an ambush on the road they must pass, and be sure to eliminate them and avenge the villagers in Luzhong.
As early as the beginning of August, after Yishui City was recovered by the Luzhong Military Region, it was frantically swept by the Caoye Qing Brigade. This Japanese army was very arrogant, and there was no one in sight to go deep into our Luzhong base area, killing a large number of innocent civilians along the way, and the corpses were all over the place, which was unbearable to see.
In order to eliminate the arrogant and domineering Japanese army, General Wang Jian'an decided to conduct an ambush battle in Gezhuang, more than 30 miles northwest of Yishui City. Gezhuang is surrounded by mountains and rivers in the south, and the terrain is very suitable for mountain ambushes.
At 11 o'clock on September 4, the Japanese puppet army, which had withdrawn from Yishui City to Boshan and Linqu, thought that they had a plan, and swaggered into the ambush circle carefully arranged by our army. They swept and plundered all the way, returned with a full load, drove the stolen cattle and sheep, carried the stolen chickens and ducks on their bayonets, pulled the turned out grain with carts, and walked happily on the road.
However, at 2 p.m., they entered the ambush circle of our troops unsuspectingly. The Luzhong 1st Regiment east of Gezhuang, the Luzhong 2nd Regiment west of Gezhuang, and the 12th Regiment north of Gezhuang were almost at the same time, and the Japanese puppet army was caught off guard and fell.
The Eighth Route Army launched a surprise attack on the Japanese army in Gezhuang, and the Japanese army immediately arranged artillery fire to attack the commanding heights of Haotouling. There is no shelter at the commanding heights, and our army did not arrange troops to defend it in advance, but only planned to recapture it when the Japanese tried to occupy it, so as to avoid the ** caused by artillery fire.
After the Japanese artillery fire stopped, the 1st Battalion and 2nd Company of the 1st Regiment of Luzhong quickly seized the Piercing Ridge, and at this time a part of the Japanese army also tried to climb it. The soldiers of the 2nd Company had no choice, and drew their bright bayonets one after another, condescendingly rushed to the Japanese army, and began a brutal hand-to-hand encounter.
There were no gunshots in this sudden battle, only the metal sound of bayonets clashing and screams of pain. The Japanese recruits had never seen such fierce fighting, they were so frightened that they retreated, and their squadron leader tried desperately to thwart to no avail.
The fighters of the 2nd Company continued to attack fiercely, and the Japanese recruits could not resist, and in order to save their lives, they surrendered with their guns raised, kneeling on the ground and begging for mercy. Thinking of these Japanese devils who killed the villagers in Luzhong, the angry soldiers were even more enthusiastic, and they stabbed these demons with bloody bayonets.
After the failure of the Eighth Route Army's first offensive to assassinate the Japanese army and seize the Ridge, Kusano Kiyoshi personally supervised the battle and ordered the two squadrons of Japanese troops to continue the charge. The 2nd Company held on to the ridge, not giving an inch, and the two sides engaged in a white-knuckle battle.
In order to boost the morale of the recruits, the old devil rushed to the forefront. When the brave wins on the narrow road, a hedge down, the old devil was cut again, covering his chest or stomach on the ground and howling, frightening the Japanese recruits behind him to scatter and flee, so angry that Kusanoqing kept swinging his knife and slashing those useless recruits, but it was useless.
In order to support the 2nd Company in defending the Tou Ridge, the 3rd Company of the 1st Regiment of Luzhong transferred a squad of troops, and under the leadership of Deputy Platoon Commander Hou Yingjun, they rushed into the enemy group and assassinated 3 Japanese soldiers in a row.
Seeing this, Ken Okada, the leader of the 5th Squadron of the Japanese Army, personally brandished his command knife and slashed at him. Hou Yingjun struggled to block the blade, and then a lunge stabbed straight into Gang Tianjian's chest from the front, pierced and then pulled out violently, stabbing him in the stomach, and his intestines flowed out along with blood.
Hou Yingjun's ferocity made the Japanese recruits around him stupid, and they scattered and fled as if they were dead. After the war, Hou Yingjun was exceptionally promoted to company commander by the 1st Regiment of Luzhong.
In the evening, the battle entered a stalemate. The troops led by Kusanoqing were unable to break through the Tuo Ridge, so they had to lead the troops to retreat to a Niangniang temple west of Gezhuang.
This temple was once the garrison of the Japanese army, and at the beginning of the battle of Gezhuang, a puppet army was sent to occupy the temple, and two Type 92 heavy machine guns and six crooked light machine guns were deployed here.
Due to the lack of heavy ** in our army, if we force an attack, ** will be large. Sun Jixian decided to adopt the "tired enemy tactics" and constantly sent small units to harass them, so that the Japanese puppet army could not rest all night, so as to consume their physical strength.
At 4 p.m. on September 5, Kusano Kiyoshi could not stand the constant attacks of our army and ordered the Japanese puppet army to break through. This is also what our army is looking forward to. On the way to break through the encirclement, our army had already set up a number of ambush points, intercepted them layer by layer, and flanked them in front and rear, constantly destroying their vital forces.
And the turbulent Yi River has become a ghost gate for the Japanese puppet army. A large number of corpses of Japanese puppet soldiers and their belongings were washed downstream by the river.
Kusano's main force was heavily damaged, more than 300 Japanese soldiers were killed and 31 were captured. From then on, Kusanoqing no longer dared to go deep into the Luzhong base area and acted recklessly.
