On January 30, Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, co-chaired the 8th China-Arab Joint Economic and Trade Committee with Algerian Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and Urban Affairs Belle Alibi in Beijing to exchange views on deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Arab countries.
Wang Wentao said that under the strategic guidance of Chairman and Teben, China-Arab economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results. In 2023, China-Arab countries will hit a record high, China's investment in Afghanistan will grow rapidly, and the two countries will also carry out fruitful cooperation in infrastructure, high-tech, and people-to-people exchanges. China is ready to work with the Arab side to promote the in-depth synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and the economic revitalization plan of the "New Algeria", further give full play to the role of the bilateral economic and trade joint committee, optimize the structure, promote cooperation in large projects, expand cooperation space in new energy, digital economy, manufacturing, agriculture and other fields, and promote new development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Bel Alibi said that the Arab side is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to deepen and enrich bilateral cooperation in various fields. Greece and China will expand imports from Afghanistan and encourage Chinese enterprises to increase investment in Afghanistan. Argentina has introduced a new Investment Law, which will create a favorable environment for companies, including Chinese investors.
