Relations between Japan and Russia are tense, and the clouds of war hang over the two countries. Although Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida claimed that he hoped to sign a peace treaty with Russia, in fact, there was an undercurrent surging, and the intention to prepare for war was clearly revealed. Japan has not only deployed missile warships in the area near the South Kuril Islands, but has even introduced Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States, clearly putting pressure on Russia.
However, Russia is by no means weak. Not only have they permanently deployed strategic nuclear submarines in the waters of Japan, but they have also frequently conducted large-scale military exercises in the Sea of Japan to demonstrate their formidable military strength. Russian strategic bombers hovered over Japan and were well aware of the airspace around Japan. What is even more frightening is that Russia's strategic missiles have locked onto important targets in Japan, including US military bases in Japan. Once the conflict breaks out, these missiles will ruthlessly destroy Japan's homeland.
Japan must understand that any risk-taking will come at a terrible price. They must renounce their territorial claims to the four northern islands and seek a peaceful solution with Russia through dialogue and consultation. Otherwise, they will face an even more tragic fate than Ukraine.
In these uncertain times, peace and stability are all the more precious. We should uphold the concepts of peace, cooperation and development, and resolve international disputes and conflicts through dialogue and consultation. Only in this way can we work together to create a peaceful and prosperous world.
