On February 1, the special exhibition of "Dragon Travels to the Four Seas - Xiamen Cultural Relics Searching for the Dragon" will be launched in Hall A on the first floor of the main hall of the Xiamen Museum.
The dragon has been a symbol of the Chinese nation since ancient times, and the Chinese regard the dragon as their ancestor, and only the dragon is respected. On the occasion of the arrival of the Year of the Dragon, Xiamen Museum selected nearly 100 dragon-themed cultural relics from its collection and launched a special exhibition of "Dragon Travels to the Four Seas - Xiamen Cultural Relics Searching for the Dragon". The exhibition is divided into three parts: "The Origins and Origins" introduces the birth and evolution of the dragon image, "The Dragon Travels the Four Seas" shows the dragon in history and culture, and "The Descendants of the Dragon" tells the dragon in folk culture. There will be 99 dragon-themed cultural relics in the museum's collection, with a wide variety of varieties, including ceramics, bronzes, stoneware, jade, wood carvings, calligraphy and painting, embroidery, gold and silverware, and ivory carvings. The representative cultural relics include the Qing blue and white cloud dragon pattern general porcelain lid jar, the Qing Jingdezhen kiln Qianlong blue and white carmine glazed dragon pattern porcelain plate, the Qing gold lacquer wood carving carp dragon component, the first pastel nine dragon jar and so on.
In addition, the colorful dragon-themed cultural relics in the museum's collection will be exhibited to the public in conjunction with the cultural relics of the Year of the Dragon in more than 50 cultural and museum institutions across the country.
