Archaeologists excavating the Giza Plateau are constantly discovering new tombs and impressive artifacts from Ancient Egypt. This historical site has yet to reveal all its ancient secrets, and there's clearly more to offer. We know that archaeology attributes three pyramids to the pharaohs: the Pyramid of Chiops, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Myklin, of which the latter is the smallest, with no obvious signs of the fourth pyramid sister ......At least not built of stone. But on paper, the existence of the Fourth Pyramid of Giza was recorded by the Danish explorer Frederic Louis Norden (1708-1742), who attended the Frenchman Pierre Joseph Le Roux D'esneval) expedition to Egypt organized at the request of Egypt. King Christian VI of Denmark.
Norden is not an amateur researcher. He was an experienced naval captain, cartographer, and archaeological explorer who traveled to countries such as the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Malta to study forts and fortifications before visiting Egypt in 1737. When the captain arrived in Egypt, he recorded and mapped everything he saw and explored, including pharaonic monuments, buildings, structures, and maps.
Archive Description:Egypt & Nuppy Journey (Voyage D'Egypte et de Nubie (1755) contains extensive documentary material by Frederic Louis Nordin as well as drawings of his travels to Egypt in 1737–1738. It contains some of the earliest realistic paintings of Egyptian monuments and remains the main ** of Egyptian monument appearances before tourism and mass excavations in the 19th and 20th centuries. Some of his paintings have puzzled modern researchers. Cause? Norden painted the fourth pyramid ...... Giza
The captain wrote in his notes:"There are four of them, which is worth the attention of the curious, and while there may be seven or eight nearby, they are nothing compared to the first one (......The two "North Pyramids are the largest, standing at 500 feet high." The other two pyramids are much smaller but have certain characteristics that deserve to be studied and admired......”Describing the fourth pyramid, he mentions that the top of the ancient structure is strange. It is"A stone darker than ordinary granite"."As for the fourth pyramid, it is less than thirty meters away from the third. It does not have a sharp top and is closed, similar to the others, but does not have any temples, like the first one. However, it has one feature worth mentioning: it has a large stone at the top, which, obviously, is a pedestal," Captain Norden clarified in his notes.
It is known that there is no fourth pyramid in Giza. Some believe that satellite imagery shows the presence of several giant Egyptian pyramids buried deep under the sand, but this may not have been what Norden observed during his travels. So, how did he record the pyramids of Giza when there were only three? Most modern scientists believe that the captain made a mistake and mistakenly identified one of the satellite pyramids of Mykrinus as the fourthThe "great" pyramidPyramid. But if this is true, then that doesn't explain why Norden describes the fourth pyramid as black. It is known that the Mikrin Satellite Pyramid (nicknamed for its original covering"Red".Pyramid) is not made of black stone.
This fact leaves us with few options. There may be a translation error somewhere. Captain Norden's text was originally written in French and then translated into English. Perhaps the fourth pyramid is not black, just darker than the others. Another possibility is that he actually saw a black pyramid that no longer exists. Perhaps this ancient building was the victim of vandalism, or was deliberately demolished as a building material for a house or building in Cairo.
The pyramid could not have disappeared into thin air, but there was also no reason to doubt Captain Norden's words. Obviously, the explorer saw something and recorded his experiences, but we just can't solve this mystery of ancient Egypt yet. It may have suffered with the so-calledBlock 2The same fate as the Sphinx, which may have been close to the Sphinx we see today, with its black face almost like the Olmec stone, is also considered not original.
